Norwood's on Fire
News has filtered through to us at BBC headquarters that nothing has happened for ages. Congrats to the 606 users for bashing that 10,000-mark though. At least some good has come of the last few minutes.

Pure gold this today from the beeb, their Olympic play-by-play was gold as well. Reckon they've been reading cricinfo itbt

Owen to Spurs the latest new rumour. From one club that never really does anything to another tbh, that's of course ignoring the fact that it probs ain't true

Hehe that was pretty funny. We (Man Utd) need Berbatov, we can't survive the season with Tevez and Rooney. Campbell can't make the step up to Utd standards so easily and we can't rely on a midfielder for goals. Although I am surprised that Fergie has targetted Berbatov, he usual stays away from the moody, 10 year old girl's attitude type players.
8-)

21.38 Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov is at Old Trafford as he gets set to complete his move to Manchester United. Berbatov has undergone a medical and has been pictured meeting Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill at the club's stadium.

22.02 Sky Sports News sources understand that Manchester City have put in place a £32.5million deal to sign Robinho from Real Madrid, while reports in Spain say the deal has been done. Chelsea had been hoping to capture the Brazilian, so will there be a late twist in the transfer?

Have to say, I actually hope they get Robinho, just so we can all laugh at that tosser Kenyon.

Seems unlikely however.

What will Berbatov do if he ends up going nowhere tonight?

Tottenham fans surely won't want him now, going for a medical without your club agreeing a fee is twattish tstl.

There's a Manchester City fan in the office getting ludicrously excited about the supposed signing of Robinho. To be fair, he's usually a bit lively - he probably celebrated when they signed Darius Vassell a few years back.
Two questions, where's Smith and where was he when they signed Vassell?

Surprised there's not been much of Brumby in the thread today, either. Though I guess the Arse have been quiet.

BTW, Greenacre-watch, nothing happening. My fears on Saturday seem to be unsubstantiated, that's what happens when you're drunk by 2pm I guess

"Anyone else feel Man City are funding Real Madrid's offer for Ronaldo in Jan or next summer? Hopefully reports are true that Madrid are after Villa and so will be spending Robinho's money straight off."
LOL. Seen some conspiracies today.

Latest rumour is that United have matched City's bid, sort of, by making a cash-plus player offer including Frazer Campbell. If the Robinho stuff is true then it looks like Citeh have accepted defeat wrt Berbatove. Made for an exciting day though, proud to be the one that broke the Berbatov story on CW itbt

Is Robinho that good? Or is it just a young a Brazilian with a bit of skill a big reputation?

From what I have seen of him for Madrid (when he got in the side) hasn't looked that flash.

I think Madrid signed him for about £17 million off the top of my head so it represents cracking business for them to get an extra £15 million + for someone who doesn't always get a game.

Very talented IMO but I have my doubts about how he'll fare in the Premiership, I think he may prove a bit lightweight, though not sure.

Liverpool selling Steve Finnan to Espanyol was a transfer that slipped the net.

I thought Finnan was a decet player definately better than Arbeloa who is 1st choice right back. Howvever Finnan was a at a distinct dissadvantage when competing for the position as he isn't spanish.

Heard that his legs had been going over the last year tbh. He's had a good run at Liverpool, doubt he'll have too many regrets.

I'm calling it a day. Enjoyed following the transfers today even though hardly none happened. Will be interested in checking the headlines tomorrow morning.

For me, a mate of mine has summed up today best with the following facebook status:

[name] is signing for man city!

Tbh, I'd be laughing my head off, if it wasn't for the fact we've sold our best young player.

All this toing and throwing over ****ing Berbatov & Robinho. The Prem has finally shown it has millions more money then sense. It's not exactly David Villa and Lionel Messi, is it?

A sulking git with a negligible sell-on fee who was average last year, and a light-weight bloke who's surplus to requirements at a poor Real side.

Over 30 mil, for both, you're having a larf:laugh:
