Wowee, there's been some extraordinary instances of bounce today, stuff flying all over everywhere. Boucher completely late on one and almost gets a six over the wicketkeeper, bounces barely a metre inside.

And then edges an absolute beauty next ball, easy catch taken by Prior.

Nah, from what I can see (and Im on a small screen :) ) his left arm is taking a noticabley shorter distance from A-B.

The arc Ive talked about for a long time is less pronounced. He should be happy with the way the action looks ATM
That may well be true, can't say it's something I've thought to look at, but his basic out-of-hand speed has indeed been pushing toward 90mph since the time mentioned - NZ ODIs.

Oh dear South Africa.
TBF, this has mostly been excellent bowling - only Gibbs can feel out-and-out ashamed of his dismissal. If SA match this later, they should in theory be in with a chance of at least salvaging respectability.

Trouble is, England will know they don't need to go like Smith and Kallis thought they might. So hence, if (and it is an if) England bat as they should you'd imagine it'd be an easy chase.

Is the ball swinging round corners or something? Quite astonishing this.

Decent attack this in ODIs, IMO

There's not been particularly excessive amounts of anything - the ball has seamed, every now and then, and Flintoff and Broad have put the ball in good areas for the most part. And as tec said, there's been a bit more uneven bounce than you'd hope for. Anderson got not completely insignificant swing earlier too - can only imagine what he'd have done if he'd bowled well.

Flintoff is surely heading for a free-hit here, that front foot is dangerously close.

I didnt see the speed but action was ragged for the Botha wicket. Like his old action.

Anyway, excellent spell. High quality fast bowling.

Looks like Botha missed that one he was given out caught behind off, and Nel hits a four from his 1st ball.

Nel going for the big swings, probably the best way to go. Unlikely to last too long but it's probably not going to do if you try and block anyway.

Definately no edge on that Botha dismissal.

That 5th wicket was off a really poor delivery. Im not even sure why Broad is still on, hes bowling noticable worse than he was earlier on in his spell, he would have been better off coming on back on to replace flintoff and bowling to the tail IMO.

Has the 9th batter ever been the teams top scorer after facing just 4 balls?

LOL dunno if there is a stat for this..

Sadly not.

On similarly irrelevant-to-cricket matters, dunno how many dance music affectionados are reading this thread, but if anyone could tell me the title of the piece that SA are using every time one of their batsmen walk to the crease (and presumably when they walk into the field too) this series I'd extremely appreciate it - been trying to find the name of the damn thing for the last 6 years.
