Greg Bird, super douchebag, if he's guilty he never plays in the NRL again for mine.

From what I can tell, the Knights are gorrrne, and 8th place will come down to the final round game between the Eels and the Warriors.

Dying for the Roosters to lose, and for us (Brisbane) to jag a home final. Haven't been to a home game since March.

Why? You live in Brisbane so you should get plenty of chances to go to games.

I find the atmosphere at Broncos home games pretty dead (the crowd observes, rather than participates). Plus, it's $30 to get in, $40 to get drunk, and $6 for a room temperature hotdog. By contrast, at home watching it LIVE with no commercials, it's free to get in, $20 to get drunk and $5.95 for a large pizza.

Yeh fair enough I guess, I just prefer to go to games. The cost is definitely steep but I still go to all the Raiders games when I'm not working (and obviously I don't actually support them).

In the same boat, although I find Raiders crowds to be a bit dead as well, and it's always a struggle to convince myself to get out to some of the night games.

Greg Bird the latest player in trouble, apparently glassed his girlfriend.

You should be able to bring in your own dinner and grog.

One esky per spectator...watch the crowds triple!

It's been good that the Raiders seem to have had a lot of 2pm Sunday home games this season, although the Panthers game was a horror when it snowed before the match. That was freezing out there.

Analysis of potential to beat Melbourne:

Manly - un-manly - grand final not played at Brookvale - can't win.
Cronulla - hearts of glass(ing). No Bird. No points. No win.
Roosters. Have died in the arse. Freddy's lame one liners at press conferences won't get them over the line. Can't win.
Broncos - relying on the shadow of Lockyer's former self. One tackle to a dodgy knee from oblivion. Prone to lack of discipline, forwards are woeful. Can't win.
Raiders - best side to watch in the comp, but only 17 fit players. Can't win.
St George. They're St George FFS. Can't win.
Newcastle. Good to watch, but no Buderus, no Knights. Horror run home. Can't win.
Warriors. No ticker away from home. Can't win.
Penrith. Horror run home, no ticker. Can't win.

It's apparent then that the only side to challenge Melbourne this year is the mighty Eels. Three in a row now, having comprehensively put away the competition's hot pots the Bulldogs last week. Sure the margin was 50 less than anything anyone else has put on the Dogs in a month, but they got the points.

The explosiveness of Chad Robinson and Daniel Wagon in the back row, combined with the 80 minute efforts of Fui Fui Moi Moi, the creative genius of Brett Finch and the rock solid ball security of Feleti Mateo will all ensure the juggernaut rolls on.

I tell ya, get on now. I won't be.

Yeah, has been nice out on occasion, and luckily they've been playing some really entertaining games that are worth sitting out there for anyway.

How bout we look at the positives each team has on beating Melbourne

Manly - Hunger and desire, they say you have to lose one to win one. Can beat Melbourne in a one off game like Brisbane did in 06.

Sharks - Defence, big game are won by teams who defend well, Sharks tackle in numbers and limit opposition offloads and second phase play.

Roosters - Forwards can rise to the challenge. Sure they have been struggling lately but can match it with Melbourne up front.

Brisbane - Have done it all before, just have to be close enough for Lockyer to once again pull something out of the hat. Also have the best 1,6,7,9 Combination outside of Melbourne,

Canberra - Can score points, no team has really tried to go around Melbourne, they have the ability to score back to back to back tries with ease.

Dragons - Self belief, no matter who lines up for the Dragons they have always thought they were going to win, don't have any weak links in defence and have points in their outside backs.

Warriors - If the good Warriors team turns up they are genuinely a threat to Melbourne. The one that got beaten by St George yesterday wont do it, but the one that beat Brisbane, Sharks and Storm in a row can.

Eels - If they make the finals they can win it. Mateo is so gun and their outside backs will score points if they get good ball. They need to throw the ball around more, wont beat anyone in the middle of the park.

Newcastle - Kurt Gidley will play two positions now with Buderus out. The guy is in supreme form and if his mates step up they could catch some teams off guard.

Penrith - This young team just needs better direction and they would be sitting easily in the top 6. They definitely arent a much worse side than Sharks or Roosters and they can beat the top teams if they perform to their ability.

Only three contenders for mine:

Melbourne

Brisbane (have the players to shift up a gear come the big games)

Manly (like Brisbane in 2006, can beat Melbourne two or three times out of 10 - they just need one of those two or three times to happen on GF day).

As for the Sharks, I feel they are playing close to full capacity and don't really have the potential to shift up another couple of gears. So, while they'd walk across smashed glass to win the comp, I don't think they'll get there.

Cleans up on the Brisbane/Manly/Newcastle/Canberra/Melbourne multi (h). Thought it was dead on Friday night.

Throw in Massa and Bekele and I've had a good weekend.

If it wasnt for Brett Stewart it would have been a bad weekend for me. As it was I finished up.
