Worcestershire really played well today. We were in a bit of trouble when we came out to bat but as usual this season we've produced with the bat when needed.

I officially love Marcus Trescothick:wub:
Sky have been so lucky with their choice of matches this season - they've caught Napier's 150, Bopara's 112 off 59 balls v Derby and now this. Unfortunately I was watching a rather dull draw at Lord's - a long-standing prior engagement. No highlights either, I see.

Incredibly it looks as if Somerset are going to lose that game on Duckworth/Lewis.

I was at that game at Taunton yesterday, incredible stuff from Trescothick and Kieswetter. 302 must be the highest one-day partnership ever to finish on the losing side.

Superb stuff from Sky today - included in their "Eye on England" players were Liam Dawson and Dawid Malan.

I've been impressed with Dawson in the 2 games I've seen him, but he's 18 and has played a total of 16 games for Hampshire in all competitions.

Malan's another one who's miles away from England contention, and seems to have been nominated on the basis of one (admittedly very good) T20 innings against Lancashire.

Both players would be better left alone to develop over the next 4-5 years, instead of being ridiculously hyped up.

Agreed there on both counts: Dawson looks very confident with the bat and more than useful with the ball; Malan's reputation stands on one televised Twenty20 innings. He's made runs in the Championship though (ton on debut?).

Malan's got a decent FC record that can hopefully be improved on, but FFS, let the players records demand inclusion, instead of hyping them up on the basis of 1 game.

See Napier, Graham.

Just watched Lancashire throw away a very decent start, thanks to Vincent, Brown and Horton, and crash to, what will presumably be, an insufficient 183 all out. It is a very young side Lancs have got out, but one that will have to learn very quickly if they are to scrap their way from the bottom of the league.

Well to be fair to them they have come up against the lethal pace of Devon Smith, and the spinning wizardry of Nash, Yardy and Hamilton-Brown

Haha, genuinely was hoping for another washout today. Last year we almost won because we had so many games cancelled; this year it's the other way round.

Hoping we'll get relegated in both leagues to be honest, that way Watkinson can get the sack and we can get rid of all the old timers in the side.

Next season we should start with a nucleus of Horton, Du Plessis(given he's signed a new contract i guess he'll be involved, but he's hardly set the world alight), Croft, Cross, Smith and Chapple. Then we have the likes of Brown, Mullaney, Cheetham, Newby etc. I guess Mahmood is still going to be knocking around unfortunately, probably Keedy given its his benefit year as well.

Will not be remotely surprised if it doesn't happen tbh.

According to bbc cricket website forum sam robson signed with middlsex, another aussie goes astray, see him fulfilling dalrymples' role in the team.
