James tahir says he wants to play for south africa, has a s african wife.
The ECB will have to write him a pretty big cheque to get him to change his mind.
I guess england did stop sean ervine from choosing australian cricket so i guess its always possible.
You could sign him as a kolpak
BTW when does murray goodwin qualify for england..

He doesn't have a mind of his own then? Not good enough for Australia, was what I understood.

Goodwin is pushing 36, there's no chance of his adding England to the impressive list of teams he's represented, but I suppose he may get a season or two as an England-qualified player. Sussex have certainly missed Mushy this season, at least it means that there'll be a different Championship winner this year. Durham to make history perhaps?

Never happened.
I don't recall this either so it cant have happened - one Lancastrian may very occasionally be wrong but never two

I am disappointed in cricketarchive for creating fictional scorecards like this and will be taking the matter up with them

Yorks 6/1. 100 ao is my prediction, which is low enough for the follow-on, seems as it's a 3-day match. Lancs ftw

Other news, CL confirmed for December, slap bang between the India-England ODIs & Tests. Strauss, Shah and possibly (but unlikely) Joyce are the only players I can think of likely to be affected by this, seems as Strauss will likely not get a game in the ODIs (imagine he'll be in the squad) and Shah in the Tests (see previous brackets) then can't see it being much of an issue.

That is, of course, assuming Shaun udal isn't picked on the back of his awesome average in India.

As I say - I just tend to always presume selectors are going to make good decisions. It makes no sense, I know.

England needs a second spinner for India and if Rashid is up against the likes of Swann, Tredwell et cetera I know I’ll rather have Rashid in my squad than those two.

Tredwell is a nothing bowler and Swann despite doing a decent job for England thus far, isn't much better.

I agree with Dicko, it would be a really poor move to chuck Rashid into the England set up, when he clearly 9sn't ready for it. Give him another 2 years in CC and then select him, if he lives up to the hype (which I think he will).
