Yeah, I saw the Arsenal kit today too and thought Charlton were playing for a minute. It reminded me of a passage from possibly my favourite book of all time...

'Con il mare negli occhi e i sole nel cuore, Bari ti giauriamo eterno amore.' So says the main banner the Bari fans have opened right across the lower parapet of their curva: With the sea in our eyes and the sun in our hearts, Bari we swear our eternal love. The south, I reflect, watching the boys work out on the pitch before the game, does tend to be a little more sentimental than the north.

Their other main banner reads: 'We honour the colours of our city.' There's a fantastic medieval solemnity about it. On Verona's website, The Wall, in the endless debate over the selling and buying of players this summer, somebody responded to the idea of boycotting the stadium with the line: 'The brigate honour the colours gialloblu, not the players, not the trainer, not the owner, only the colours.' On the coach the boys sang: 'Players and trainers come and go, but we are for ever, for ever, brigate, brigate gialloblu.' What delirium! What security in the close ties of an undying community!

On the subject of kits looking like other teams does Citeh's away strip look like AC Milan?

Also don't like the signing of Tal Ben Haim.

Very good prospect indeed IMO, pleased he's gone on loan, he needs football. Personally, I'd have given him quite a lot of game time this year (assuming we don't sign a right back) but it seems Ferguson is reluctant to do this, so a loan it is.

Rafael Vdv to Madrid is now confirmed, and a ****ing steal at $9m (if reports are accurate) if you ask me.

Hmm, apologies, it's actually €9m (thought it was pounds, and put the $ absent mindedly), which would make it around 7m pounds yeah? Either way, it's a steal imo.

Kicker says it's just under €15m (£12m, AU$25m) - a bid of €9m was rejected earlier. Also tallies with market value and another source on the trade.

West Ham v Ipswich sounded an interesting match last night, for a friendly. Ashton (hoping to be proved wrong about him, tbh) got a hat-trick in a 5-3 win for the Irons. Bellamy also scored then apparently got in an altercation with an Ipswich fan.

What an obnoxious little ****, he really is8-)

Currently 1-1 at HT in the return leg of Rangers CL qualifying match. Would absolute love to see them crash out now. Reminds me of when we lost to Artmedia a few years ago.

Need another Kaunas goal I think.

Good night for Baltic football tho, Ventspils beat Brann 2-1 (but Brann eked through on away goals)

Ex-Naarwich, isn't he? They love him at Portman.

Yeah, Rangers are still good on away goals. That said, Kaunas would be on a high after what was apparently a great free kick to level the scores just before half time.
