Will be interesting to see what happens. If you were the Bulldogs I doubt they will force him sit out four years or force him to play for them. Why would you want a players that doesn't want to play for you. Reckon they will just get compersation from the French club, who will basically pay out the rest of his contract plus a fair bit more. Could cost then 6 million over two years. Though with the money they have got they wouldn't care.

I wonder who will be next. JT IMO.

In other news, Canberra are going to tell Todd Carney to sit out the rest of the year and get counselling or kiss his green machine days goodbye.

Doubt that JT wants to do anything other than represent Queensland. Wouldn't jeopardise that.
JT did say in an interview around the Gasiner depature that he would be 'stupid' to not consider offers from other codes and overseas. I would find the article but I cbf. Though I can't see him being that successful in rugby, but it seems the French rugby guys are just interested in big names not always the most suited players to their side or to rugby. Gower a prime example.

Yeah, he has the rest of the season off, 200 hours of community service, and a hefty fine (which no one knows how much it is). He also had to attend rehabilitation.

Todd Carney to France anyone?
Actually, I see him more as an English Super League player. Not that I wan't him to go there, but that's what I can see him doing.

If Todd Carney does anything but stay at the Raiders, I would lose heaps of respect for him. The amount of **** that they put up with from him warrants some loyalty imo.

Can't blame Sonny Bill for wanting to play the global rugby code... hehe.

Nah, poor effort on his front - for all his moaning about Willie Mason demanding loyalty then leaving, it doesn't make his own decisions any better. He better learn how to tackle like a grown-up too, if he wants to make it in union.

I think you will find that most clubs will jump at the chance to sign him, as long as he is willing to take a pay cut (his current demands are WAY to high). Hate to admit it as I think he is selfish, but he is an awesome player, and most clubs would love to have his services.
Yes but what about his attitude and just walking out on a club, shows to me he is not a team player.

Just cus other clubs could see the writing on wall and allowed players to be released doesn't make it any different really.

He'll fail. His game doesn't suit union at all and I doubt his ego will let him adapt.
yeah, i dont know where he will play, it would have to be either in the centres or second row. anywhere in union needs a very different skill set to his.

That said im sure he will have fun partying in France with Henjack.

Surely this will burn any bridges he has left in Australia (and rugby league in general).

I don't have a problem if the Bulldogs gave him the green light, but they didn't so that is my beef.

Ok fine, if you are an NRL club CEO and you had the funds to sign SBW when his rugby stint is over, would you have no problem signing him even though he has a history of walking out midway through a current contract without your consent (ie do a runner)?

Anyway SBW should harden up, $450k is heaps of money and if he thinks he is so hard up, then he should try living off a lot less then $500 a week. People in this country don't realise how lucky we have it.
