Johnners rather fancied himself as a keeper. David Frith (from whose book The Great Wicket-keepers the above incident was taken) mentions some interesting stuff about him and calls him ...Brian Johnston, perhaps the most enthusiastic wicket-keeper never to have played first class cricket. :)
