I just think the problem is N.S.W. players are less passionate than QLD players.

Honestly (Crocker aside) who was the last real big name QLD player who consistently got selected for QLD to head overseas? Apart From Crocker, can't really think of one. Yet, the last two seasons we've seen King and Gasnier go.

Disclaimer: This post is not 100% serious, probably closer to 88%

I doubt too many of the QLDers would hold passion above 1 million dollars +. Given the team they have at the moment most of them will be up near the top bracket in terms of what they're being paid anyway. Personally, I struggle to sympathise with someone who's making 400-500,000 dollars a year (or more) who says they're 'struggling'. I wish I had that problem. I'd say most players in the NRL would probably choose lifestyle over money. Though I'd play in France for $50,000 (all of which would go on hospital bills) a year, just because it's France

We only ever hear about QLD passion when they win anyway, it's strangely missing when they lose.

No tips from morgieb again....

Anyway, the CW verdict:

Sea Eagles 10 vs Eels 0
Cowboys 0 vs Broncos 10
Titans 6 vs Panthers 4
Sharks 6 vs Knights 4
Bulldogs 4 vs Warriors 6
Raiders 4 vs Roosters 6
Rabbitohs 8 vs Tigers 2
Storm 9 vs Dragons 1

Divided opinion on several games. The minority carry the day in the ****/Panthers game.

I hate NRL.com, I've been thinking the Knights/Sharks game has been locked at 13-12 since half time for 15 minutes or so, then I notice it is no longer updating. I go to Yahoo sports and find out the Knights are behind again. ****s make me feel good while I wait for Sky to show the bloody game, since the Warriors/Bulldogs just has to be live. ****s.

You can still play with passion and lose. If it's passion for your state you're talking about and not just passion for being in front on the scoreboard.
I remember game 3 last year, when we were only behind 6-4 with 8 minutes to go and down to 14 men. Remember we had a lot of passion that night, considering N.S.W. should have wrapped the game up well before the 72nd minute.

However, we didn't have much passion in the first game this year.

Like the third game this year (- the down to 14 men part), except the reverse happened and NSW lost  Very good defense by QLD though.

Bloody well fed up with the Roosters. Canberra handed it to them today, and doesn't look good for Souths either.

Might have to rethink my tipping strategy for the Roosters.

Raiders are so exciting to watch at the moment, if they could play for 80 minutes more reguarly they would be genuine premiership challengers. Even today at 28-0 they fell asleep, Roosters could have gotten back into it if they took some better options at 28-12.

If Tigers can hold on i'll have 7/7 this week.

Na, if Cronulla can be a top four team then we deserve to be up there.

Btw, just found out you're a Demons supporter. Should really be ranting about your disapproval of my supporting an interstate team in the NRL. Will let it slide.

BARNES OUT
We had this discussion Stedders, it's different in the AFL. NRL is only alive because of NSW vs. Queensland, it's a rivalry that keeps the body of NRL beating. I find it disgusting that a full-blown Queenslander would support a Sydney based side.

That's of course ignoring the fact that everyone in my family are Demons supporters, with the whole of my mothers side being born and raised in Waverly before moving to Canberra. I've been bred a Demons supporter since I was born, I'd be surprised if your parents and grandparents bred you a Roosters supporter.

You do have a valid point and it was easier to support then when they had Hegarty, Hodges, Flannery and Crocker. That said, I never heard any pro-Rooster comments from my family but have supported them since I was 5 or 6. Still not entirely sure why.

EDIT: I don't think supporting Queensland in State of Origin should make me disown the club team I've supported passionately for as long as I can remember.
