Interesting to say the least.

 at this thread's perhaps 100th incarnation BTW. Reckon we really do genuinely need an official-ish key.
Well if you expect newcomers to know WTF's going on then it mightn't be a bad idea!

Yeah, English is a very easy language to learn to a decent level.

There are no genders involved in words, it isnt very structured and has a million simple words that can be used in place of complicated ones. The fact you can speak all mixed up like Yoda and be easily understood says a lot for basic English.

Obviously the higher you progress the rules of grammar, some quirky spellings and a massive vocabulary makes it more difficult.
Think about it from the perspective who is accustomed to gender attached to words and specific words used to express specific things. It's not quite as simple.

Naah, I'm used to gender being attached to words and it's still the first thing I botch when I try to speak German. Impossible to learn them all by rote. No idea how I managed it as a kid.

Happy to admit even I've never heard this before.

Anyway think it's time for an official-ish thing as I say above. Here's what I've got so far - add (silly posts will obviously be ignored - take note Daniel Smith) where you can think of suitables.

TV, IM(H)O, TB(P\B)H, BTW, ITBT, FTR, CBA(\F), TBF, FWIW, IOW, AFAIC, AFAICS, IIRR(\C), MOO, POV, UIMM, (ROTF)LMAO, LOL, AWS, AWTA, DWTA, FTW, FTL, ITSTL, GAGF, FFS, NFI, WTF, STFU, GTFO, SFAB, CFAB. Sure there's quite a few I'll have forgotten.

Lol so you recommend having an 'official-ish' list of acronyms that involve curse words, but still censor them if written in full?
