Who is the Best Test Bowler out of These 4?

Well overall, Hoggard is clearly a better bowler than the rest of them, looking back on previous Tests and stuff. I think he will eventually end up being the best when they are all retired, also.

1- Hoggard a better swing bowler though not very successful as he should have been.
2- Harmison.

4- Anderson. He needs skill other than just being quick.

Pretty vague question ITBT. If it was people who should be playing for England atm, then I'd say my list was correct. Not having seen Harmison bowl this summer, but I still wouldn't want to see him playing for England again.

Would probably agree with that, except would also include Anderson just below Harmison at his best. I think I would have a hard time deciding between which one of Harmison or Anderson they arent bowling at their best though.

I'd have Harmison on a bad day over Anderson on a bad day, on the grounds that Harmison's extra speed makes him at least a little bit more threatening even when he's bowling badly.

Hoggard
Harmison
Anderson
Broad (although he will certainly improve).

Hmm, it could work to his disadvantage. If Harmison is bowling half-trackers outside off-stump, you need less timing for them to go to the boundary, you don't need to put any of the pace on the ball. Lee, for example, is prone to getting pasted all over the place when he is bowling badly, because the extra pace makes him easier to hit. A good batsman shouldn't be trobuled by his pace if he is bowling in bad areas.

I guess it depends who they're bowling to then. Someone like Brendan Mccullum can whack Anderson all over the show when he's bowling badly. A timer of the ball like Tendulkar would score more off an out-of-sorts Harmison.

...and on a good day (mostly limited to 2004) he can bowl 90 mph+, so probably. I've not seen Anderson touch 145 km/h. 140 km/h+, yes.

As for the original question:
1) Hoggard
2) Anderson (by default, as he's still a 'swing specialist')
3) Broad (still learning)
4) Harmison (except at his best, he's more like #1)
