Eh, the telling stats are unforced errors and break points lost.

Federer's playing well to get the break points, but he can't convert. I wish he'd won that second set after he went up a break.
That doesn't mean its not a close match. Its the reasons why Nadal is winning, that's all.

Wow people really confusing arguments as to why its a tight match, and using arguments as to why Nadal is winning.

We know why the great Rafa is winning, doesn't mean this hasn't been high quality tennis and edge of the seat stuff. And its certainly not a crushing, stupid phrasing to claim it is so.

If this is a crushing wtf was Nadal vs. Murray?

I've enjoyed the momentum swings of this match more than anything. Not just within sets, but within games and within points the attack and counter of both these guys has been brilliant.

Loving it, been breathtaking.

Haha nice come back Samuel.

Such an uneducated post from you Sanz. Its still great tennis, and is a close match. Nadal has saved many break points, showing its tight edge of the seat stuff.

Just like the 2007 French Open final.
I am sorry but my expectation of a great tennis (from Men's) is just much higher.

I ignore my two kids for few hours, face the wrath of my lady @ home, hear the countless annoying questions from my old man about the two players - all for an all time Classic.

And I am served with an average Wimbledon Finals. :@

It's edge of the seat stuff because it looks like Federer will lose, but everyone would like it to go at least another set. There's been some great tennis played, but Federer's not playing well enough for it to be a truly great tennis match.

Can you honestly say this game wouldn't be better if they were one set apiece with Federer just scoring five straight points from 0-40 to hold his serve??

Haha I'm not going to argue with you Sanz, because its impossible to, but that match you linked to was classic. I have it on DVD.

Haha average? Wow now you're just exaggerating for the hell of it.

I give up. Not going to ruin my night with my boy Rafa doing so well.

Can You see the Break points and errors from Federer ?

Edit :- OJ beat me to it.Besides it is never about the stats.
I'd rather look at total points than break points when trying to predict what's coming next. For mine, Nadal's been lucky with the timing of bad shots from Federer and is thus leading 2-0.

Also, errors from Federer is always higher. It's his game. Has tended to work so far.

People also confusing 'close' tennis with 'high quality' tennis.

I can give countless examples of 5 set matches that stretched for hours which were riddled with unforced errors and boring rallies.

Nothing beats that Sampras Agassi Australian Open semi-final a couple years back for mine. Haven't watched as much tennis as some of the others here, but that's one of the greatest sporting contests I've ever seen.

When is it coming back on? The feed I'm watching has the Land Before Time on in some language I can't make out.
"We've been told to expect this rain to last for the next 20 minutes or so although it could be a little longer."

Btw, you're watching Norwegian television. They've shunted the tennis over to their second channel, so that feed won't work again.

But the timing is a key part of it too. If you can't produce on the big points then you won't win and for mine on most of the big points so far Nadal has executed so much better than Federer. Can't put that down to luck for me.

Don't believe in skill to win clutch points tbh. Might do if I watched more tennis, but it seems like a story to make sense of a random, small sample of a bigger game. Every match I've watched with Federer before keeps pointing out "how good he is on clutch points", then suddnely he isn't.
