I hope that's not SD spoilers from you there, sledger. I'm staying clear from now on. :p

Speaking of which, I'd appreciate it if people could put anything that hasn't been shown on TV in spoiler tabs in future. I've decided I enjoy wrestling much, much more if I don't know what's happening.

Again, speaking of which.....C-M-MOTHER-****INg PUNK!!! I don't care about the tenuousness of his victory, I don't care how he's been booked recently. I mark out big-time for the guy and was almost out of my seat when he came out to cash in. So happy he's hit the title jackpot. Feel bad for my boy Edge, but I shouldn't be surprised it's him who's dropped his title and not HHH.

Life as a mark is so much more fun - the longer I can stay away from the general cynicism of most wrestling sites, the better. Of course I will still be heading in here for discussion and all that, but moments like that make staying away from spoilers very rewarding. Can't wait for the next few weeks, some very exciting things going on right now.
Haha so it wasn't quite the "watching your mother in law drive over the side of a cliff in you new Ferrari like I predicted then?

Surprisingly, even though it's vBulletin, there are no spoiler tags on this forum.

Just say
, or something.
Just put it in a colour similar to the background.

E.g. Highlight to reveal --> C IS FOR COOKIE THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME

Pale Turquoise is the colour of choice, BTW. Bottom row, four from the right.

Though this isn't really a critique of smarks or marks, what really gets my goat, is the amount of fans you see on the internet (not here, just thought i'd better clear that up) who obviously have no knowledge of wrestling prior to 2005, who think they know a hell of a lot and have great opinions on everything and usually come out with the likes of "cena sucks, I hate John Cena, he's f*cking terrible" and "only kids like Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio", and the worst of all "stop ragging on HHH, he's the best wrestler ever, nobody else has had as many title reigns".

But anyway, main point, can't stand people who hate Cena and Rey etc.. purely because they have been told that is what people with supposedly great taste in wrestling think.

haha really? had no idea tbh, thought this sounded like a typical wwe idea so didn't look into it.

Surprised that Edge vs HHH has been booked for GAB, would have thought they would have held this back for Summerslam, guessing that they will just have a rematch at Summerslam, a HHH win one assumes.
HHH will bury Edge and cost him all his heat. Seen it a million times before. I havent caught The Game on SD though, how is he over there? With JR and HHH I'd laugh if it started gettin higher ratings than Raw

I think the ratings have improved actually, and from what I've heard it sounds like they have been decent shows, though I haven't actually had the chance to watch any of them yet.

Haha, nope. I was disappointed to see Edge lose his belt, but it adds a fresh direction to SD, for sure. I figured Edge would hold his belt until 'Taker came back and won it off him.

Delighted to see a totally new face as top dog on RAW - with the exception of Mickie, all the RAW Champions are now first-timers (except for Cody, sort-of), which is great news. Things are being kept fresh - and I was told that this Monday's RAW rating was a 3.5, which is the highest in a while.

Admittedly, the victory for Punk could have been built up a lot better, but the fact that it came out of the blue made it all the more satisfying for me. Reinforces the concept of MITB, and really gives you the impression that whoever has it could win a title at absolutely any time. Can't wait to watch SmackDown tonight and see the aftermath.

Spoilers Below

Smackdown was pretty awesome this week. Loved how Triple H made fun of himself both in real life and through the storyline wedding that he had with Stephanie in the late 90's in the opening promo. MVP and Triple H worked pretty well in that opening promo and I found it to be really entertaining.

Edge continues to be the true MVP of the WWE though. His promo work today was outstanding and things have taken an interesting turn with him ditching Vickie. Although I feel it may just be a ploy in order to beat Hunter at either GAB or Summerslam with Vickie assisting Edge, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The matches were pretty solid too throughout the card. The draft certainly has made things more interesting again.

Edge isn't like your Kane's, Kevin Nash's and Scott Steiner's. Edge has been on absolute fire and gets the most heat any heel has gotten since, well, Triple H back in the early 2000's. I hope this won't be the case, because a weakened Edge will result in a weaker WWE product. I'm predicting Triple H goes over at Great American Bash (no surprises there), but Edge might pull through at Summerslam.

I think one could argue Jericho in late 2001 got more heat as a heel than Hunter ever did. Until he was squashed by Hunter bitch at Wrestlemania of course.

I posted in here earlier and it's disappeared.

Quoted masterblaster's post discussing this week's SmackDown and added my two cents, and now it's gone. Weird.

I guess you are owed a refund.

Ya know, since you gave your two cents and all.

Not bad. I will actually give my two cents again, so I'll be owed four cents if this doesn't show up.

Very impressed with SmackDown this week, Edge was once again on top form. Interested to see how Undertaker fits back into the title scene, seeing as Edge may not even have the title when Undertaker comes back to take revenge on him. The prospect of Undertaker-Triple H for the first time since WM17 is a mouth-watering one.

Smackdown was good no doubt, but good grief that new Divas Title is an absolute disgrace. It baffles me why WWE needs two women's titles and can't afford to have the Cruiserweight Title on Smackdown. I don't know what they're thinking with regards to that.

Yeah, ridiculous. Really bad idea. I predict the belt won't last two years before it's Unified with the other Women's title.

All true enough, although we aren't big on numbers in this thread the quality is high, I also like how people can have a disagreement/differing opinion on here without resorting to the whole "I'm a better fan than you" bs that goes on elsewhere.

For the record I quite like Cena but wish he'd turn heel, he works harder than anyone to improve in the ring and is a proper company man by the looks of it too. He also gets real reactions from crowds which in this age of wrestling is golden.

But anyway, main point, can't stand people who hate Cena and Rey etc.. purely because they have been told that is what people with supposedly great taste in wrestling think.
Thing is, at the end of the day this makes them at best glorified marks. They think they know better but at the end of the day they're still sheep following what other people think and say.

Second part for me really, Edge is hot right now but Trips has buried guys who were mega over and ready to step up to perma over status so if he truly wanted to kill Edge's heat he could do it no problems.

Hell, since the draft we've already seen Edge look like a bitch two nights in a row, once at NOC and the other on Raw. I fear for the guy, but am comforted with knowing that both Vince and Stephanie are big fans of him so he may still be okay in the long run.

That gives me comfort too. I'm a huge Edge fan and would love to see him win back that title. Most entertaining character in the entire WWE in my opinion.

What's fantastic is that both Edge and Christian have turned out so well after splitting up. Loved them as a tag team, but never thought they could be so good on their own. It's amazing to see how far they've come over the last few years.

Two of the best all round performers going today.

One thing I noticed when watching Raw recently was seeing Mysterio trip and almost stack it, heard a lot of things about how SD! wrestlers don't really care about botching a spot because it can be redone again.

Has got to be a plus point for him to go onto live TV and tighten up his game a bit, having had a truly exciting Mysterio match for a long long time now.

Yeah, definitely agree with this. Would love to see Christian transform his TNA success into another WWE run in a few years' time - Edge vs Christian at WrestleMania 28, anyone?
