Such a fan of van Jaarsveld.. Seems like a nice guy with his head screwed on as well.. How long until he qualifies for England?
Don't quote me, but I played today and it came up in conversation that it is two more years.
Yeah, by which time he'll be 36.

Not even sure he'll still be eligable for Kent in the meantime, pending ECB Kolpak reviews and how long his current contract is.

I'm a bit surprised that more has not been made of Harmison's pace, I just watched the highlights and saw him get up to 93.9mph (151.1kph).

He is certainly a special bowler (no, I dont want to discuss this again) but unfortunately he is also a special child.

He was the most unique bowling talent England had produced since Willis.

As one of his few longterm defenders on here, Im not going to promote him any more after the Boycott incident.

Indeed. My comment wasn't on any sort of level, I just thought that his pace would have generated slightly more discussion.

The general consensus is that when he bowls fast he also becomes more accurate (strangely enough) as its usually a sign that everythings clicking into place and he's bowling with good rhythm.

In his last few Tests he was struggling to hit 80mph at times which shows just how unconfidant he was. Also he's the type of personality which will always bowl better for his county where he feels safe / at home rather than on tour :@

Essex batting first in their FPT semi. Kinda rooting for the Yorkies here, would be good to see Gough and Hoggard in a Lord's final.

Is that Ashish Nehra? Sure you can find far better..
He was a panic choice after Fidel Edwards pulled out of his contract. Now just a few weeks before he's due to start Nehra says he wants more money AND wants to start his contract much later in the season. Well he can just **** right off :@

Reckon they might sign up him as an overseas player if that goes through TBH. Fairly integral part of the team.

A golden moment there in English domestic cricket.. The camera zooms on a very fat **** who is trying to squeeze into his seat.. The guy looks like he has just eaten a sofa

Cue Bob Willis:
Tightly packed in here at Chelmsford today....

 Sounds like one of the club players they had in the studio on Cricket AM last week. I swear he was as wide as Key and Blackwell stood side by side.

If this new kolpak rule comes in i can understand the rush to sign and resign kolpaks.
Gibbs to take over from jason gillespie, even tho he is still looking at being glamorgan's first kolpak.

Essex vs. Yorkshire being showed on Star Cricket here in Singapore.

Pretty awesome! Great knock by Napier.

Yorkshire in pursuit of a tough target of 283. CW's own Chris Gale is looking in good nick (touch wood) but Adam Lyth was the victim of a poor lbw decision. Athers was on the ball, he was saying so even before the replay.

I think, from the article I read, that the ECB would honour any Kolpaks' current contracts.
Oh yeah, obviously. You can't force counties to break contracts that have already been signed.

Any Kolpak phasing-out will need to allow deals to run their course.

Obviously, if van Jaarsveld has a deal that expires at the end of this year, and the ECB rule-out all Kolpaks, Kent would probably do well to re-sign vJ of course.
