Not Whites fault Ponting rates his bowling...Whats ITBT don't know my net abrreviations.
Fact is white is ****e,we thought watson was ****e but he has grown.
But white is definitely a pile of doo doo too he proves otherwise.
Would love us select 2 promising spinners for bangladesh and then for the icc knckout trophy.
Their is a lot of competition for the one day spot.
And we have until 2010 /11 to get it right,Brad hogg is gone time we moved on.
PS michael clarke and andrew symmonds are nothing but part timers and should never be our no 1 spinner i don't buy that chris gayle argument.
Clarke is better than a part time bowler. He's better than Casson, certainly, and Casson is a specialist.PS michael clarke and andrew symmonds are nothing but part timers and should never be our no 1 spinner i don't buy that chris gayle argument.
With regards to OD cricket, yes. But in Test cricket, he is no more than a part timer.Clarke is better than a part time bowler. He's better than Casson, certainly, and Casson is a specialist.
I think that he's a part-timer in Test cricket because he doesn't get the bowling required to develop into a genuine allrounder. He's been impressive almost every time I've seen him bowl in Tests recently, and is far more consistent than a bowler I would classify as part-time. In essence I consider Clarke a part-timer only in terms of usage, rather than ability. He will never be of specialist spinner quality, but he can certainly develop into a genuine allrounder. With regards to OD cricket, yes. But in Test cricket, he is no more than a part timer.
We have for every single match of the tourHope Aus bat first again.
Fully AWTA. Clarke as a pure bowler > Casson, White, Hauritz, etc combined. Vastly underused in my opinion. What his bowling avg still sub 25-odd?I think that he's a part-timer in Test cricket because he doesn't get the bowling required to develop into a genuine allrounder. In test match he has the best bowling average in the Aussie team IIRC. Under 20 as well IIRC.Fully AWTA. Clarke as a pure bowler > Casson, White, Hauritz, etc combined. Vastly underused in my opinion. What his bowling avg still sub 25-odd?
Well I dunno that he's better than all of those guys combined, but his bowling has certainly progressed and I'd rate it somewhere between 'part-timer' and 'good bowler'. One thing that I've noticed is that he rarely gets smashed. He is pretty damn accurate.Fully AWTA. Clarke as a pure bowler > Casson, White, Hauritz, etc combined. Vastly underused in my opinion. I dunno what the impression is in Australia but from here it seems like he's in a sort of 'golden balls' can do no wrong, on and off the field, atm.In test match he has the best bowling average in the Aussie team IIRC. Under 20 as well IIRC.
Pup doesn't have enough weapons to be something more than a very useful part timerFully AWTA. Clarke as a pure bowler > Casson, White, Hauritz, etc combined. Vastly underused in my opinion. What his bowling avg still sub 25-odd?

Exactly. Not to mention, his batting average would correspondingly decrease no doubt. Anything which takes away from his batting should not happen and if he was to bowl more regularly, I'm pretty certain that's what would happen. One thing that certainly would help his figures is that he generally only gets a bowl when conditions suit him. If he was required to be a stock bowler and bowl loads of overs on all pitch types I'd say the average would push up close to 40, if not over.
