Umpire Davis a bit lazy with the Powerplay signal. Only did one loop. Pathetic.

Dunno why the hell McCullum's standing back to Oram.
You crazy? I'd have him standing back to start with too, especially with the bounce and chance of a nick to the keeper. Different if Bell charges and smashes 10+ off Oram's next over, then you can bring him up. Negative cricket starting that way for mine.

It's a ODI FFS, stopping runs ("being negative") is what you're supposed to do. Oram's already been hit for a single four that shouldn't have been given the chance to Bell to hit. Could change 10-37-0 to 10-41-0. Big difference over 10 overs.

I always tell my wicketkeeper to stand up to the stumps from ball one to me - if the batsmen start looking clueless, then move back.

Bell  So often a wasted talent. That said, still my favourite English batsman to watch (aside from Vaughan at test level).

Cant believe the kiwis are persisting with Southee - all these wickets must hamper his development

Oram beats Bopara with a beauty that smacks into Mccullum's gloves. Confirms to me McCullum standing back is the best option

My my, somebody will have to play a gem of an innings. 10 overs each from Southee for not many runs + Oram + Vettori = 30 overs of potential suffocation. :-O

Colly gone!

Wow that seamed in. Just as the thunder and lightening hit auckland and cause sky to exhibit some 'rain fade'.

England batting = dire.

Fair to say its as bad as New Zealand batting. NZ relies too much on McCullum, England relies too much on KP.
