BARNES OUT
It's good on paper, but has been poor especially recently.

Tarick's basically a batsman now, Geg's fallen further and further and has now lost a contract, McKern retired and Hancock is bits and pieces. Wright dominated last season and Wilson was handy but there was no backup.

If you mean the second half of last season, bar Kyle, then you'd be right. For the first half we bowled well as a unit and everyone was fairly even in terms of stats (Wilson, Kyle, Weber and myself averaged under 30 for the first third or more iirc). The Colts bowling attack, like a lot of teams, has been largely inconsistent in who performs and when. Last season was my first bad season in FC, ditto Hancock, Weber had an extremely poor season in Season 12, while Kyle was solid but not spectacular before 13. Wilson has been solid.

What we lack is depth outside 5 first choice players, with no one of real experience besides Jack to come in if one of us is performing poorly. Though, on reflection, Bochat and Pares were unlucky not to get at least 1 FC game last season.

Maybe you could invest in taking half our starting side again?

EDIT: I know this is likely to happen :(

Just having a look at the stats, we had (statistically) a strong bowling attack in seasons 9, 10 and 11, but lost more games than we won.
Since we raped your starting side  our batting has been stronger and we've had a better win/loss ratio in the last two seasons compared to the first three.

But, indeed, our downfall last season was a poor bowling effort in the second half.

McKern actually retired from Blue.

Just think Dunn leaving Blue to get more FC time would've been better off to go to Green, not the Colts. :)

Looks like there may be a few changes of personnel throughout hte clubs before next season.

Just been having a bit of a look for Burridge's, Tyson's and Taylor's activity.

They haven't really been active around CW but all seem to have posted relatively recently elsewhere.

So, think i'll offer them a 1 year deal each. Pending their activity.

Excited about the new season, really want to move against the Blax domination.

Need to get some activity going around this thread when the season gets going too, because it seems we aren't very popular. :p

EDIT: Looking at the stats from last yr, I still can't believe Mamesh has left the building. Would've been great to carry that on. Looking forward to creating an equally dynamic partnership with another Blue though.

Yeah, it was a great duel between Smith-Arnold and Young-Mamesh. Shame both are now gone. I'd say honours were even tbh.

Hmm as a partnership, you guys I think shaded it but on an individual basis, think we slightly had an advantage. As you say though, cracking battle.

Pity we'll never....ever....see Young-Smith on the scorecard on a domestic level. :p

I only score runs when it counts tbh, i.e FC finals and Test matches. :p

Should be interesting to see who comes out on top this season when it comes to openers this season. Four opening combinatons with a bit of potential this season:
- Mamesh/Malone
- Smith/Stedman
- Young/Fuller
- Mork/Sharma

Reckon Mork/Sharma might be the one to watch out for.
