Should come back tomorrow for another over IMO. Even if no-one's watching, it's absurd to get that close to a result and not get one.

Surely its better to keep on playing considering they played in the rain for a good 20mins. 5 more mins.

Am pissed as I stayed up till 3:30am to see this farce.

What a joke. Grecian's gone to Edgbaston today; imagine he's distinctly non-plussed.

Not often I agree with Botham, but he's called this one right: why the half-hour break FFS?
The thing is, nothing will be done about this. No one will take the responsibility, it'll just be another ODI farce that goes into the distant memory.

Love cricket, but there's so many flaws with the administration even on basic levels, its easy to see why some aren't bothered with it sometimes.

So 8 off 6 if it resumes. But I doubt that.

ffs, in the time that it took them to put on all the covers, it could be over by now.

It has? I've seen 10-minute breaks between innings before now. Hopefully it'll be made mandatory for such breaks in games of 30 overs or less.

Game is now officially a no-result.

Jono;1593666 That's what the idiots get for a 30 minute innings break. Ridiculous.[/QUOTE said:
From what I gather though it was raining during the break, so they wouldn't have been able to start earlier even if they'd wanted to.

Agree completely. Look at the way the world cup final was bollocksed up.

Only this could happen to NZ. 8-) What a wretched tour this is turning out to be.

The black caps will be surely be kept away from sharp objects now.

Ideally Mustard should not have been dropped because he essentially provided the pinch hitter role that Wright is probably incapable of doing. With Mascrenhas, Shah, Collingwood and Bopara, England essentially has a fairly decent middle-order that the likes of Tim Ambrose is not even necessary.
As Wright as shown today he is very capable of playing a pinch hitter role but can he do in long term in the 50 over game i don't think so. In 20/20 well hell yea..

On Mustard he was now getting into his own in NZ, but with some players you can just tell if they can come good or not & looking @ Mustard technique i get the feeling he would be one of those players @ international level he would blow hot & cold.

When he gets going he hits into weird areas thus a hard man to bowl to, but if he is out of form given his iffy technique which overall as an opener i'm not too comfortable with.

I dont even want to think of Cook and Bell opening the batting at this point IMO. Picking Prior is just plain madness at this point, not only because he was actually a proven failure only as long ago as a year. I dont think much has changed in the 4-5 odd list A games hes played since.
On Prior to avoid repeating myself read this

Further it would just really dot the question marks on the ECB selection policy at the moment given the musical chairs that they have been playing with their keepers.
Word out..

Disgraceful indeed.

And shame on Collingwood and Broad. Spirit of the game. ffs, England could have even won it.

Davis claiming there's the law of consistency needs being obeyed - as they weren't playing earlier they couldn't play then just because circumstances were different.

Fair enough in a way, but it changes little, annoying remains.

FRBS Cricket. Deadset.

Aussie Rules so close right now to reclaiming its spot as my favourite sport.
