Good start for Ana here, 4-1 up and serving. The $2.20 you mentioned James does look a good bet at the moment!

Ana wins 6-4 6-4 :) Safina played well but I think Ivanovic was definitely more deserving of the trophy. I'm happy anyway lol. :p

Bring on Federer vs Nadal!

Though the womens final was interesting. Always good to see a new player in a major final and I think Safina did well, difference in the end was Ana's ability to win the big points.

She had a great tournament, and should leave quite happy. As you said, experience in the end was the difference.

Did a preview of the Men's final (Virtua Tennis 3), playing as Federer against Nadal and if it's any indication it's going to be a cracker of a match. Nadal won 6-2, 7-6, 7-6. Federer had more than enough chances to win it, being 3-0 up in the 2nd set tiebreak and 5-4 in the third set, however, Nadal just found a way to win.

Lol, solid!

3.5 hours til the match starts. I can't wait.

Btw, Federer is out to 4.00. Surely some money will come in for him soon.

That's borderline madness for a two-horse race, especially when he's such an obvious thoroughbred.

I still don't think he'll win, but might be tempted with a quid or two at that price.

God on clay wins the first set 6-1.

Federer being his stubborn-self as usual. Not changing his game.

Nadal completely dominant in the first set...Roger beginning to change his game a little in the second, which is a bit closer. Hope he wins this set at least, a 3-0 Nadal victory will not be worth staying up for!

Second set won by Nadal 6-3. It'll take something magical from Federer to extend the game past the third set I feel.

The match is going just as I expected. In 2006, Roger was very competitive as he was still at his peak, even last year he was competitive too and took it to 4 sets (and even beat Nadal in the Hamburg final on clay before the French started).

But its clear as crystal this year that Roger isn't the player he was, whether its on clay or hard court, so all logic pointed to Roger being even less competitive this year.

Hope Roger can fight back a little and take a set (even though I have money on Nadal in 3 sets), but I just can't see it atm. Frankly he's lucky he was seeded 1 and avoided Djokovic in the draw.

EDIT: Nadal up a break in the third now. This could be over soon.

you cannot discount the fact that nadal has become even better a player especially on clay, i think it is more a case of nadal playing that much better than feds not playing well enough...

Disappointing final in terms of a tight affair, really, though a brilliant performance from Nadal. Clearly the best player on clay, and thoroughly deserving of the title.
