I'm not sure where you got your information from Goughy (link?), but it's either wrong, or not updated. I was partially wrong in saying that he was now most certainly the outright leader, when in fact at the very least, he is on par with Patrese on 256 after Monaco, or at most 258 (depending on your source). Whatever the case though, on Sunday in Canada, Barrichello will have undoubtedly started the most races ever no matter who you source is.

The conjecture was to whether his 257th race would be in Turkey (which it was according to the Official F1 site) , Monaco & Canada btw.
From Wiki which I know isnt the most reliable.

They do state that

wiki said:
This page is accurate up to and including the 2008 Monaco Grand Prix (May 25, 2008).
and the figures it lists are-
Code:
[B]Total entries and starts[/B]

   [B]Driver Seasons Entries Starts [/B]
1 Rubens Barrichello 1993–2008 259 255
2 Riccardo Patrese 1977–1993 257 256
3 Michael Schumacher 1991–2006 250 248
4 David Coulthard 1994–2008 235 234
5 Michele Alboreto 1981–1994	215 194
6 Andrea de Cesaris 1980–1994 214 208
7 Gerhard Berger 1984–1997 210 210
8 Nelson Piquet 1978–1991 207 204
9 Jean Alesi 1989–2001 202 201
 Giancarlo Fisichella	1996–2008 202 200
 Alain Prost 1980–1991, 1993 202 199
Im fine with that being wrong if you say it is. I dont know the details off the top of my head and was going on what was listed.

Reason:

Races entered and started

A driver is considered to be "entered" into a race if they attempt to compete in at least one official practice session with the intent of entering the race. These drivers are noted on the "entry list" for that race. A driver is considered to have started a race if they line-up on the grid for the start of a race – if a race is stopped and re-started, only the final start of the race is counted.

In my eyes, if you havent qualified for the actual race, then you cant claim you've been in the race, hence Patrese is still the leader in number of 'races', until Reubens equals it at the weekend.

Nah, I'm telling you, he's either already ahead of Patrese, or at the very least equal, and that's in terms of races that he has actually started. What wiki has is wrong (imo) and I'd take AutoAction & Motorsport News' (motorsport mags here in Australia) word before that which is on Wiki :)

AutoAction reports in their latest magazine that whilst there may have been conjecture as to whether he broke the record in Turkey or Monaco, there can be no doubt that this weekend at Canada as he will break the record regardless. I.E. He will have the record if you're counting "race participation" as race starts, or races entered.

I'll take the official F1 website over any of them, which co-incidently agree's with the figures on Wikipedia, that he's entered 259 races. Though F1 doesnt say how many he qualified for, though a quick look at his stats shows he DNQ for San Marino 94 (crashed in qual IIRC, nearly died), and did not start in Belguim 98 (race was restarted after a massive smash up, either Verstappen took the spare car, or there wasnt one), and both the Spanish and French in 2002. So in the official eyes of F1, he'll equal Patrese's record for race starts in Canada.

ITSTL, It seems in the official eyes I'm wrong, yet in the eyes of everyone but the offical ones, I'm right. But seeing as I'm never wrong...

I can't emphasise this enough, your arguing over Rubens Barrichello and Ricardo Patrese. Not the greatest of battles in the F1 world.

Reckon James90 deserves a point his answer to question 9, Condor is indeed a brand of golf equipment.
