Richards could well be a legitamate rumour, and i'd like to see him as a central defender for us, with us grabbing another right back.
Or just utilize his versatility as both as CB & RB, instead of buying one of each..

Had an offer accepted for Ramsey from Cardiff, as have Arsenal, hopefully he'll come north, learn from Scholes and break into the team in a couple of years. No point rushing a 17 year old into the first team.
Its really funny how all these talented left-footed players are coming from Wales & not being born in England. Why do they play international football again?

Also being linked with Santa Cruz, cant see that one meself, reckon it'll be either Berbatov or Benzema coming in, if any
Would be nice to get Berbatov or Benzeman but do we really need another striker though?.
Yea i know there has been talk that we need another out & out goal-scorer but the combination or Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez was going pretty solid this season. No need to strenghten our mid-field & forward line just yet IMO but the defense could do with a boost.

Problem for man utd is, if Ronaldo leaves/gets a long term injury, without an out and out striker, or someone else who can fill the void of regular goalscorer, there is potentially a huge problem there, hence the need for a new centre forward...though obviously if Ronaldo doesnt leave, and doesnt get injured and repeats the same form as last year there will be no such problems...but thats a lot of ifs and buts to leave up to chance imo.

Don't need another defender IMO. Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, Evra, Neville, O'Shea, Evans and Simpson seems enough. Would prefer a youngster coming through than wasting cash on the likes of Alves. Richards? Maybe. A striker wouldn't be bad with Saha as backup if he stays along with Manucho who'll need bedding time. Campbell to go out on loan IMo. Oh and was conveniently surprised to see that Wellbeck was dark. Knew Campbell is but didn't about Wellbeck until near the end of the season with the Chelsea pitch fracas.

Ronaldo: I'll leave next year

ITSTL

Also, according to a Liverpool forum I read, Udinese Leftback Dossena is all but signed up for next season. They say he was already having a medical at Melwood this morning.
I find it funny players will say they will leave when they are still under contract. But it is from The Sun so I wouldn't be too worried.

Yes, we need someone with some height, the combination of Rooney and Tevez did leave us with no Plan B at times last year, once Plan A had failed. I know Ronaldo is tall, but he is more often than not out on the left or right. I am inclined to agree with Rose on this subject, though I would like a new right-back ideally.

AWTA, doubt he will actually leave tbh, for at least two years, possibly more, or at least I hope so.

That said, I think it's inevitable that he will go to Spain at some point. Hopefully by the he'll want to go to Barca instead of Real.

Thing with Ronaldo is, part of me thinks it wouldn't be a bad move to sell up. His footballing stock will probably never be higher - great though he is, it is hard to see him repeating his feats of this season again - and in a couple of years, with less time left on his contract, we won't get anywhere near as much. If we get offered silly money, I wouldn't mind us selling up.

Sven Goran Eriksson named as the new Mexico manager. Expect Picine's Mexican alter-ego to join up and start ranting away at SGE.

Yeah, fully agree with this logic, I would also suggest that the only way for him to go at UTD is down, he has already hit the form of his life, and already won everything there is to win in of any note in England...so you never know how things may turn out...

Sam Allardyce new Rovers manager. Thank **** time the football season rolls around I will be living in another country so I don’t have to watch what is likely to be a terrible season in the making.

pretty logical choice for Rovers tbh, similar style manager to come in and play similar turgid but effective football, bet their fans are drooling.

Rovers under Hughes for the most part did not play turgid football; it’s a misconception and fallacy that you can not combine a physical game with an aesthetically pleasing game; even the clubs hatchet men (Tugay, Vogel…) are technically good.

Allardyce's teams are anti-football.

Yeah is true actually, good point well made.

That sucks, sofia should get that spot imo, this smacks of UEFA bottling it in order to please the big teams, dire.

Richards isnt really a right back though. It'd be like utilizing Hargreaves at Right Back, because he can. Richards is probably the most promising centre back in England, playing him at right back would be a travesty. He can defend, but United have always utilized the full backs as attacking players, and Richards doesnt offer anything in that department.

As for talented left footers from Wales. Ramsey (didnt know he was a lefty tbh), Giggs and Speed. 3 in 20 years (Giggs debut was 91, Speeds 89-90 i think). Not the hugest turnout.

And we definately need another striker. No doubts about it. We cant just expect Ronaldo to have another magical season. The Rooney/Tevez combination is good, but doesnt produce enough goals. Think a Rooney/Tevez/Another team would give the top man a shed load, especially with Hargreaves/Carrick/Ronaldo playing behind them

AWTA. Like Real Zaragoza missing out of a European Cup spot to Real Madrid who finished 5th but won the EC

I also wouldn't be surprised if Milan get the surprise team from Latvia or Lithuania and get a piss easy group as usual
