The report I read in the Guardian today reckons he bowled very well though. Apparently he bowled 10 overs on the trot and swung it prodigiously. Good to see cos I remember him bowling nicely over 3 or 4 overs then his pace would drop right down. I hope he can just improve his accuracy and consistency a bit, cos he has pace, height, swing and seam movement already in his locker.

I still hope he can do something at international level, but I'm not especially hopeful.

Yeah, where's the surprise in that? Players always get better when they're out of the England team. I guess people have simply forgotten how woeful Mahmood is - indeed some refused to accept it ITFP.

Very, very optimistic.

Yep, then another 20 minutes ripping out the Pakistan tail at Headingley.

Apart from that, one of the most woeful Test careers in history.

Paul Horton you f'in legend. Shame it's gonna rain tomorrow, we might have had a chance to at least get some pressure on. Horton should go on the A tour this year imo

A unusual event occurred late in the day: the two teams completed the requisite daily ration of 96 overs 15 minutes before the scheduled closing time. This is a rare and there was even a loudspeaker announcement to explain to the crowd that play would nevertheless still continue until 6pm.

Bit sad that over-rates are that as-a-rule poor, really. Not remotely surprised it came to such an announcement mind.

Saj looked quite strong in that clip.

It doesnt mean much overall but he did look to be bowling a heavy ball.

Most England rejects doing well at the moment - not Ramprakash though. Absolutely set up to bat for a long time but couldn't manage it. And Surrey will go into T20 without a Championship win (even if rain comes to the rescue tomorrow).

WoW, seriously? Surrey haven't won a single game all season? Didn't spot that.

Guess their bowling just isn't strong enough. Though somehow or other the normally useless Dernbach has filched a six-for today.

Well, they have got the apparently rapid Meaker waiting in the wings.

Can't say the weather has really robbed us of a likely win, although several matches have been rain affected. The one at the Rose Bowl could have gone either way (34 runs/2 wickets wanted at the end). Meaker I don't see getting more than one CC match this season. Ormond and Jordan were both left out for this one, and later in the season I imagine the aim will be to play two spinners.

Great win for Worcs after 4 weather induced draws. Bowling has done pretty well this season. Lets hope Jones keeps himself fit, and Ali is always a great County bowler.

Bit bizarre that Ian Salisbury was allowed to go to Warwickshire then, no?
