Oh FFS, looks like the HBK/Batista angle is back on, and its been kickstarted by Y2J jobbing to Batista on RAW, just ****, again the crowd were mega behind Jericho and gave Batista loads of heat, but yet the E put Batista over as a face, oh ****ing hell, so annoying, ****.
We Jericho fans tend to get riled up with his position on the card, but seriously I don't think Jericho cares anymore. He's around 35 or 36 years of age, been wrestling for more than 20 years, and achieved pretty much everything there is to achieve in the profession. I also think after so long in the business he has the energy to really go backstage and pollitick for his position.

He doesn't strike me as being egotistical or power hungry either and seems to just care about entertaining the fans. From all the interview's he's given he always gives the impression he doesn't care what spot on the card he's in and he certainly doesn't seem to care whether he's going over or not. All he wants to do is make sure his match is the best, and his segment is the most entertaining.

I'm a firm believer that you have to really get into people's ears and rally if you want the top spot. People like Booker T, Christian and Chris Jericho have all been team players. They're always more interested in having the most entertaining match, making the other person look like a million dollars and seem to be more concerned about whether the company or the show is doing well as a whole.

Your Hogan's, Flair's, Michael's and Hunter's sure can learn from this. But this is why people like Booker T, Christian or Chris Jericho never got anywhere near what they could've been. Not everybody is a politician, some people are entertainers.

Yeah agree with all of this, and I can completely understand why he would be like this, as he does genuinely seem like one of the nicest guys in wrestling full stop. Its just a shame because about 5-6 years ago he was so over, it was just great, the fans loved him, he was probably second only to rock and austin in terms of the hottest face in the company, but it just fell away...

I never expect him to hold a world title ever again tbh, and I can live with that, what really pisses me off though is the way that he never wins any match of any note, and is just used as a vehicle to put over people less deserving than he is (batista being a prime example), and granted he has done a great job of putting over people who really deserved it (ie. Shelton, Hassan, Carlito, Christian etc..) but that all amounted to nothing, as they all either got buried or left the company, aarrgh, just wish he could have a bit of freedom with his promo's and actually go over someone decent every now and again.

Wow, Trips actually did a great job making Orton seem credible today on RAW. I guess he has to make him look good so the next time he buries him he'll be even more super over than he is now.

And Jericho on the verge of a breakdown. Hang on haven't I seen this angle before?

Though its been done before the Jericho angle at the moment genuinely interests me, nice to see him pretty much Own HBK the other night, but wasnt in a match, so means very little, still teasing with his maybe heel turn...mind you, I imagine they would be better off keeping him face, as he'll be over no matter what.

also read this morning that apparently one of the reasons CM Punk has been buried since winning the MITB at Wrestlemania is because he won't go out and drink alcohol with the other wrestlers, if thats true then its just ridiculous, FFS, if the E wanted to give the briefcase to someone who was going to be buried then I fail to see why they would award it to someone who is probably one of the top 5 most over guys on any of the rosters at the moment, argh.

Spanish_Vicente
They haven't buried him. He's barely lost at all. Not from what I've watched/read at least.
though he has picked up the odd win here and there to keep him credible, he has jobbed a hell of a lot for someone who is supposedly in line for a big push.

Look, we all know how credible the tag titles are, and if the MiTB holder is the one taking the fall in such matches, it's pretty obvious he's being buried.

Lol at the RAW rating for this week (2.9), apparently this is the lowest rating for nearly ten years, also loving the fact that they are attempting to boost ratings by promising to give away money to fans in the audience, iirc this was something Bischoff tried when WCW was going down the drain, not good news for the E.

Heh, when even formerly passionate fans like myself are disgusted about 90% of what's going on in the WWE I'm not surprised mainstream viewers are tuning out pronto too.

Like you said it's WCW all over again, no new stars being allowed to rise, no logic or creativity in booking, wrestling quality has plummeted and more.

Shame but I can't help but smile a bit seeing Vince having to resort to this, he's the one who's thought his **** don't stink for a long time and has let things come to this.

Haha yeah, its getting pretty bad, so weird how it could come to this, like you i've been a fan for a long time, and despite the roster being stronger than it has been in ages, the shows are just so poor.

I imagine the E won't go the way of WCW mind, firstly because they are so much more wealthy than WCW ever was, the one thing that WWE does really well, is market their product, the marketing is absloutely first rate, and they generate masses of revenue through all the merchandise, something that WCW (and now TNA) were pretty poor at.

Secondly, TNA are doing themselves no favours, and can hardly be classed as real competition for a company the size of the E. TNA has soem great guys on their roster, and have put on some great matches, but their shows are booked badly a lot of the time, and because they confine themselves to doing every show in Florida, they are just a very large regional promotion, whereas the E is globally renowned, but yet TNA are for some reason reluctant to try and reach out to new markets....

Hope Vince takes his head out of his ass soon, but I doubt it, probably thinks the way to get the fans back is to throw money and them and do stupid backstage skits, and create more zany characters like the Boogeyman (who unfortunately is soon to make a comeback I hear) and let HHH and Batista squash everyone, gah, my sky Sports Package has ran out, so I wont actually be able to watch RAW every week from now on, but at the moment its not like thats a bad thing.

Mate, you're probably doing yourself a favour by not watching RAW anymore. It's garbage apart from maybe 15-20 minutes a week maximum.

yeah, tbh the only reason I was watching was to see the Y2J involvement, always liked watching Carlito and Shelton until they buried both of them.

That is a harsh rating, it wasn't even that bad of a show. The Jericho vs Michaels match was pretty good for a TV match and the opening segment with Hunter and Orton was surprisingly better than I was expecting.

I think WWE really needs some fresh new faces on their roster. They've lost an enormous amount of talent over the last few years. It's no surprise that they are stale, they have been for the last 3 years.

They really need to give guys like MVP, CM Punk and Ken Kennedy a chance at the top. They've all done what has been asked of them, they are all over with the crowd. I have no idea why Triple H, Undertaker and Kane have belts.

They are established stars and are extremely over with the fans, they don't need the belts.

TNA has actually been pretty good of late. Their women's division is fantastic, and the whole storyline with AJ Styles' face turn has been really good. There is a fair share of crap on Impact, but generally the good outweighs the bad for me.

The main thing is Impact is a fun show to watch since it's a little more difficult to predict, while WWE can really drag on a lot of the times since you know who is going over and what is going to happen.

I think Kane is currently a reigning champ because he is leaving the company in the near future and this is just a thankyou for all your hardwork type thing, which is fair enough, as I can understand that.

Taker...would probs be better used putting over someone else at this stage yes, though again for someone who has spent so much time at the top he hasnt had nearly as many title reigns as other guys in similar positions...so again I can understand that.

Its the HHH one that bugs me, this is his 12th (iirc) world title, and its just so tedious, not to mention the fact that he has just buried everyone to get here, i'm don't really rate Orton but thought that he was doing well as a champ, and was actually beginning to impress me. But Hunter has come in, squashed him, taken the belt, destroyed his credibility. bah.

Another thing that gets me is that there are too many titles floating around these days, I remember when the IC and tag titles actually meant something, now the IC/US titles just get passed around whoever is on the midcard rather than someone who is legit just behind the mainevent. Similarly back in 2000 or around then the tag titles were probably the second most interesting championship after the world title for mine, now its just pointless. Having 3 world titles massively devaules the credibility and importance of the upper card imo, esspecially when we get idiots like Batista holding it for so long.

I imagine Kennedy will get a chance soon, depending on whether or not HHH sqaushes him or not will decide how worthwhile that is, whereas MVP and Punk have both been buried since WM, so hell knows how long it will be before they get anywhere near a ME.

Agreed on Jericho/HBK though, theyre match this week was pretty good, as was Jericho vs Batista, though tbf that was down to Jericho selling well and carrying Batsita through.

Yeah, absolutely spot on. It seems like an old record when I say this, but again, back about 5 years ago, hell even 2-3 years ago, WWE was never quite as predictable as it is now. It seems that the general pattern for world titles is <number one contender feuds with champion - loses match at ppv - rematch/blowoff victory at next ppv - new champion beats fodder challengers for about 2-4 months - loses title to new serious contender>.

Agreed, understand about Kane and Undertaker but they are both stale and not very entertaining. I can't stand watching Undertaker's hour long enterance anymore.

Triple H's title reign baffles me too, Orton needed to hold onto it a lot longer than he did. Looks like Triple H got impatient of not having the belt for so long. Well, I'm still happy the belt isn't on Cena.

Why MVP and Kennedy are buried, I have no idea. All I know is they're losing money and potential for two HUGE stars.

As for the titles, your right far too many titles. Miss the days when the IC belt was the second most prestigious belt in the company.

As for Jericho, it's amazing that he takes two years off and still hasn't missed a beat in the ring. Wonderful performer.
