sloppy fielding by sri lankans (Fernando & Jayasuriya) on the last ball.......

do or die now for indians......
That can only happen when the supposedly explosive Chargers get their act together and smash the Super Skinny bowling attack all around, though it doesn't help matters much when their own bowling attack is even weaker. Of course, it's evened out when Muralitharan, a star bowler, isn't doing much of note in IPL.

With the two most hair brained cricketers in the world (haven't I said it before?) in Uthappa and Fernando, Mumbai Indians shouldn't have expected any better.

Finally the new age cricket writers of India also seem to have run out of 'positives' for their new found 'hero' in Uthappa. One Indian paper gives a kind of Man/Villain of the match award every day by naming the Stud and Dud of each match. Uthappa seems to be on that second spot on most days that MI play.

Everyone has turned on Uthappa for some reason, even though he has been one of Mumbai's more successful batsmen in the tournament.

Its frustrating to see him bat, even though he manages to score its usually to a lost cause or at such a bad run rate that we wish he was out.

Man, watched the last ten overs of that match waiting to board a flight to Singapore. Had me depressed ever since. Why would Dilhara do that? Just why? :(

Incidentally there was an IPL cricketer on my flight from Singapore to Melbourne today. Anyone want to guess who it was?

Dave Hussey springs to mind.

Mumbai has now lost 3 in a row and those losses have been by 1 run (Punjab May 21), 1 ball (Delhi May 24) and now (May 26th) literally on the last ball to Rajasthan.

Supporting MI is not for the faint of heart!!
Really does hurt like hell right now. IMO Delhi were a bit unlucky to get gipped by rain in a couple of their matches so they do deserve to go through but I do believe we are a better team than Chennai so am praying for a miracle from the Chargers tonight (Afridi to ton up maybe?) to keep us alive.

Would love to see the best 4 teams making the finals and a Mumbai based finals series needs the Indians to be there to get the crowd as hyped as they should be.

Cos he's crap. Buy **** and you'll get ****.

Dilhara annoys me so much. Give that perfect build and athletic ability to someone who actually has the heart and desire to use it for fast bowling.

Was hilarious to hear Arun Lal talk Dilhara up just before he was about to bowl the last over. Perfect man to bowl the last over, cool mind and what not. :D

Yeah... I didn't get that. I'm sure I saw him bowl a really bad critical over before, but I just assumed I was imagining it when the commentator was going on about how wonderful he was.

You would think a side with Gilchrist, Gibbs, Styris and Afridi (hasn't batted yet admittedly, but also in general) would do better than this. As it is they've been outshone by these two young(ish) Indians.

Hyderabad's ordinary tournament has been even more surprising than Jaipur's good tournament. Where's Rohit Sharma, btw? He's been their best batsman by a distance. Afridi and Styris extremely disappointing.

Punjab should easily make it, though for Delhi it really depends on Sehwag and Gambhir, if they get off to a flier they have a pretty good chance at making the finals, if not, they really don't have the depth in batting, you'd think.

Mumbai out. Big upset in the IPL. A few small mistakes have proven very costly.

If T20 was a batsman's game, Deccan Chargers would be leading the table. The IPL table shows otherwise, and we can guess why. A bowling attack that's dependent on as many as three average stock bowlers is likely to lose more than a few matches, even on bowler-friendly wickets, of which we've seen so much. Maybe they'll learn in the next edition of the IPL, when their transfer window opens. Hopefully the Royals (or better yet, the Silver Kings) strike form with the ball and demolish the Super Skins- the way the Indians did not too long ago. And I wonder what Warne will say about hosting the semis and finals.
