**Official** New Zealand in England

Woodster

International Captain
Sidebottom rescued what would clearly have been NZ's session, with a cleverly excellent spell just before lunch. Both How and Redmond seemed in little trouble, save for the odd rash stroke, but the pitch has not offered a great deal of swing with only the odd one seaming. Turn there for Monty, but as he suggested himself, he has to remain calm and not get too carried away with the spin and bounce.

This England attack does lack an out and out quick as an alternative option and may be more effective on this type of track.

Vettori wants to give him an extended run at 6 before (hopefully) moving him up as he gains experience
I have a feeling Flynn suits 3 though watching him bat. Compact tight defense and has two modes that he can flick on and off. We saw the anchor mode in his debut, but I've followed him in List A and he's a slasher there.

Be interesting to see when Flynn do well in the test series that he is in the ODI lineup as well?

Ryder + McCullum open, How 3 Flynn 4 Taylor 5 Oram 6 Vettori 7 Franklin 8 Patel / Southee / Mason 9 Mills 10 Martin 11.

Sounds like Anderson been bowling the biggest pile of crap imaginable. QUOTE]

That suprises you?

Not perfect swing bowling conditions therefore Anderson is about as potent as my 85 yer old grandfather when his viagra pescription has ran out.

My grandfather 85 - 30 when my mam was born

Seems pretty average TBH

Oh, maybe - my grandad is 2 years older than yours and I'm 6 years younger than you.

England not happy about the ball again - perhaps not surprisingly.

Dang it, not again. J How taking on the Fleming mantle of not going on to score hundies.

Has McCullum's arm recovered enough?

Yup. tbh this has only been a continuation of his performance during the 2nd innings at Lord's, not to mention what's gone before. Our attack really is looking quite horrible nowadyas, isn't it.

He thought he could, he thought he could, he thought he could.....

Cricinfo being cheeky
Paul Collingwood chats with the umpire about the state of the ball. It's Simon Taufel, by the way, and not Darrell Hair. So the Test will go on.

Not just the second-innings, but later on in the first- too.

MSP straight on to Taylor and McCullum, good captaincy.
