haha, B'lore pull one back

Mallya :jump:

this result again opens up the race for the semis

B'lore and Hybad would be extremely dangerous now as they have nothing to lose and may spoils the plans for a team or two

Dravid and Kumble both have a good claims for MOTM. Without Dravid, Bangalore probably wouldn't have cracked 70 though Kumble's spell was what turned it in the end and literally won them the game, despite all looking lost.

Kumble, who set the cat amongst the pigeons, gets my vote

Shahrukh Khan joins Mallya's league of Idiot Team Owners.

News brewing that there is a rift in the KKR camp. Idiot Shahrukh Khan thinks he knows more about cricket and cricketing decisions than his team captain.
He also wants the coach to make all game related decisions from season 2 onwards. Looks like he may lose his icon player.

All is not well between SRK and Ganguly

I can see a movie in this

Sharukh Khan will be cast as the hero that saves KKR from the villain Sourav

All the latter has to do is grow a moustache (plus sing, dance and say heaps of corny lines badly) and we've got a Bollywood hit on our hands

Anyone else get the eerie feeling watching Marsh and Pommersbach bat last night that in a couple of years we'll be seeing them do exactly the same thing in whites with green helmets on? Geez, Marsh was classy last night and Pommers did well to get as many runs as he did considering how many wild swishes he had but geez, they bat well together. Have put on a couple of big partnerships for WA too. Both so talented. How much does Pommers resemble KP, eh?

f Marsh can address being squared up on the back-foot (bit Mark Taylor-esque, really) and Pommers can get his off-side game in order, I reckon they'll be in whites soon enough.

Yep, Moody did well to draft em both
a bit like Mahela and Sanga really... goes to show it is important to have batsmen that bat well with particular batsmen i guess?

btw how does Pomers resemble KP? I'm not quite sure who he resembles actually.. other than Mitchell Johnson when he bats - cant think of another lefty so leg side friendly lol (ie. cow corner)

Probably on the drive, Pommers being a little less mechanical perhaps. Just the way they follow-through. One of Pommer's last night reminded me of KP's to lift McGrath into the stands at Lords (I think). Glances through mid-on/mid-wicket are similar for mine too.

Based on his perfomances in the IPL, Marsh looks like an ideal candidate for opening the innings for Australia in the T20/ODI format. Very crisp and clean striker of the ball and Yurvaj-esque in his timing. If he can sort out his static backfoot he could be in the whites in a coupla years time post-Haydos. Certainly prefer him to Rogers and definitely James Hopeless against spin in ODI. Pomers just a cultured slogger for mine, would get dissected easily outside T20.

No kidding, almost word-for-word, the same thing was said about KP before he made the side.

In the whites, he's a different player. Still leg-side biased but he's not just a slogger. Guy can really play.

ahhh i see your point
i guess i can see the resemblance when they play too.. it's hard to explain but i get it
Sanga said you have to watchout when he's batting in the nets lol, hits it that hard

I've been surprised to know he's done well in whites too.. as i questioned him and then someone told me he's been doin really well outside T20

In retrospect, I was probably a bit harsh on PommyBasher. I think he is more like a Ross Taylor type than KP, as he has the talent to play all the shots but will still insist on mowing 80% of deliveries through the leg side. Definitely has the potential to develop, but somehow I don't think he will adapt well enough on non-flat pitches/good seam attacks to be getting a baggygreen. Definitely IT20 standard and maybe ODI standard.

Harsh to judge on the basis of a couple of T20 knocks.

Well considering that he averages 53 in FC cricket and has scored centuries in unofficial 'first-class' games against near full-strength England and South African bowling attacks, I'd say you're wrong about the baggy green comment. It is the longer format which he has prospered the most.
