Speaking of Anyon the beeb have produced rather bizarre figures for him...

18.5 13 63 0

Be interested to know if that's a typo or his genuine figures.

CricInfo have the same, so unless there's a common error, that's a pretty astounding set of circumstances. Nah, surely, must be a common error - that's virtually impossible. No-one can bowl that well and that abysmally at the same time.

And of course the useless bugger's had Joyce and Murtagh gift their wickets now. 8-) That's him in the side for the rest of the season now then.

Both BBC and Cricinfo use the same provider - I'm pretty sure, they always seem to make the same error, or update their scores at the same apparently random intervals.

Well, Newman doesn't get many (21) but Butcher posts a century. :) Superb.

Beginning to think he, not Robert Key, should be first-reserve opener TBH. And it'd be VITSTL if both Strauss and Cook were to go down tomorrow.
Still think Key should get his shot at the top of the order should anything happen to Cook or Strauss. Shame Carberry has not yet pushed his case further with a few headline catching knocks so far this season.

Haha, Key will be the first called-up should one of Strauss or Cook go down and rightly so. :) 'Twas not an entirely serious comment TBH, just very pleased that Butcher had scored that century (now 166* as I type - wouldn't it be fantastic to make it a double, though there's plenty way to go yet). Wish we could get the tail out tho - Matthew Nicholson scoring 82* (as I type) against an attack boasting Rana and Kruis is embarrassing.

I honestly do still think Butcher > Carberry, though, and I'd be far happier to see the former called-up than the latter should the very unlikely scenario of two of Strauss, Cook and Key going down at the same time happen.

Matt Nicholson has played a few handy knocks for Surrey coming in down in the lower middle order, and again he's at it today, looking for his 4th first class hundred.

Sales now 157* against Glamorgan off only 146 balls. Northants have so far made 426-4 off 90 overs, 4.73 runs per over.
Only Jason Gillespie and Robert Croft doing anything of note to slow the rate down.

And there's two insane games here on the same day as well - at Swansea Northants have somehow managed to score at (at this moment) 4.73-an-over against a Glamorgan attack boasting Jason Gillespie (though he's been respectable), James Harris, Robert Croft and Dean Cosker. Plus Jamie Dalrymple and David Harrison. Meanwhile, at Chelmsford Leicestershire post a respectable (from 24 for 5) 159 then reduce Essex to 89 for 7 thanks mainly to that seamer of noted calibre Nadeem Malik.

EDIT: you've beaten me to it.

Middlebrook may still bring Essex a little closer to Leicester's 159, but a terrible effort so far from Essex, not helped by in-form Bopara's golden duck!

I wonder if Trego will ever get a look in for International 20:20 matches - he seems a pretty handy customer with both ball and bat. If it wasn't for him, Somerset would be in a pretty dreadful position this evening.

He got it too, just before the close - certainly justifying his elevation to number 7. Odd looking card, with two men making 100s, three in the 20s and two ducks.

Do we know anything about Hannon-Dalby, making his debut for Yorkshire? Not a bad first wicket, was it - one MR Ramprakash.

Planning to go to this one on Saturday so hope the Tykes don't fold tomorrow.

I wonder if anyone knows why Warwickshire keep picking James Anyon? Despite a massive staff of seam-bowlers including unproven types like Hole, Woakes and MacLeod, they continue to select this useless bowler who's been useless for years.

Honestly, Warwickshire's staff this season is even more ridiculous than usual. Seam-bowlers: Zondeki, Daggett, Tahir, Carter, Groenewald, Anyon, Hole, Woakes, MacLeod. And despite all that lot their best bowler this season has been the part-time stuff of Darren Maddy. Spinners Nicholas James, Botha and Salisbury - Salisbury who should've retired at the end of last season for my money and Botha who's an EU-passport player. Great.
Forgot Andrew Miller tbh, former England u-19 fast bowler who left Lancs because he couldn't get in the seconds at OT

Didn't even notice him ITBT. Thought he was still at Lancs.

Really, if you can't get a game for Lancs 2nds, why would you think you'd get one for Warwicks 2nds?

Given the relative states of their first choice attacks (and ergo the likely strength of their
2nd XI attacks), you can see why he thinks there might be more opportunities at Warwickshire.

Butcher's gone shortly after passing 200. Reading a report on yesterday's play, he & Nicholson added 183 after tea yesterday - must have been carnage.

HDS mentioned on Surrey v Yorkshire, wasn't fully concentrating but he said Heath's first game he attended was at the Oval, anyone else to confirm?
