I am chilled. Enjoying a Sprite and watching the cricket actually and not fussed about this at all. Just expressing my opinion. ;)

LOL @ SST's replies. Dear oh dear.

Absolutely gutted to miss Marsh and Pomersbach's partnership. Two of my favourite cricketers.

Man, this one could get ugly here if one of Dravid or Boucher go soon. Hilariously bad from the RC's.

I find it quite ironic (perhaps not even ironic, just bizarre and flawed) that a competititon whereby all the teams basically had the same resources to buy players with - i.e. one that would lead to fairly evenly balanced teams - has managed to create a team as bad as the Bangalore side. Zero Indian talent there as well really.

The more and more I look at these IPL games, the more I think maybe the number of under-22 players is one too high. There are huge disparities often between the opening bowlers and the fill-ins. It seems very harsh on those players over 22 as well, many of whom could still have a decent ODI career for India. For sure, make each team play one, or maybe two, but is three really necessary?

And Y. Pathan, A. Mishra, S. Sreesanth and one among R. Uthappa/S. Raina/S. Badrinath/S. Dhawan/M. Tiwary should also make the 15 member squad...
I disagree with your team. Zaheer Khan has been a poor wicket taker for India, averaging 40(odd) over the past two years. This is unacceptable for an ODI fast bowler, in my opinion. I believe that Praveen Kumar is the slightly better option instead of Zaheer Khan. RP Singh has been a poor ODI bowler, as of late, for the India ODI team, going for 6.36 runs per over in season 2007/8. Whereas Sreesanth went for the similarly poor 6.11 runs per over in that season, he strike rated at the very impressive 24.6 balls per wicket (compared to RP Singh's 36.2 balls per wicket). Sreesanth has also been in good form in the IPL; although RP Singh is the second top wicket taker in the IPL - this is mainly due to the impact of left arm pace bowlers in T20 as well as picking up many cheap wickets in the final over. So, Sreesanth in for RP Singh.

I have always maintained that Robin Uthappa is one of the most bird-brained cricketers in the world and he never fails to prove me right.

800,000 USD for this idiot has to be the worst purchase ever made by the Ambani family
Ambanis also bought Harbhajan Singh for 900K too. But letting Rohit Sharma (brightest Mumbai batting prospect in a long time) stray elsewhere instead of Uthappa is particularly galling.

Many Indian fringe players have done better in IPL that this tournament may have clouded Uthappa's future in the Indian team - Shikar Dhawan, Asnodkar and YK Pathan should be ahead of this guy now. (Uthappa's strike rate of 108 is appalling and is ahead of only Kallis, Kaif & Ganguly!!)
