Fourth round makes page 8 headline
Gelman and Corrin, the stars of a low profile round

Garven Island Turistas
More CW Green support joined the Turistas, in the form of promising spin-bowling allroudner, Martin Corrin. Last season Corrin became the least likely player to score a double hundred, but remains a bowling allrounder by trade. He has shown the capability to hit the ball hard, but it is his very handy legspin that may prove most useful in T20. The seventh signing is an unknown quantity in Arsalan Sarwar, who's yet to represent a Dev League side. He markets himself as a middle order batsman with an adventurous streak.
Signings: M Corrin, AR Sarwar

Davistow Dazzlers
Stephen Young was one of the most promising new batsmen of Season XIII, but while he settled into the CW Blue first-class team, he found opportunties in OD cricket harder to come by. In 5 IPL games he batted thrice for 68 runs, with a SR of 108. Young will hope to improve on those stats, and enhance his reputation in the shorter form of the game. With Young is allrounder Zac Gelman, the hardworking CW Black allrounder. While Gelman is a fan favourite, he has not yet pushed on with his early promise. But with his strong hitting and clever bowling, he is tailor-made for T20.
Signings: S Young, ZE Gelman

Fardingham ****atoos
The ****atoos continue to build an impressive side with the addition of the exciting batting talent of Rob Malone jr. The son of CW Green legend, Rob Malone, he defied critics in his maiden Dev League season, and has racked up more than 1000 OD runs in 21 games to date. Along with his aggressive batting style, Malone adds useful seam-up bowling, though he is yet to prove his worth in that regard. A former Green star joins Malone jr., in the form of allrounder Tarick Weber. Now playing for CW Colts, Weber is the first spin option to join Heath Davis' pace-oriented unit. A typical economical bowler and flashy batsman, Weber could slot comfortably into any middle or late order spot.
Signings: R Malone, TV Weber
Yeah it's Martyn with a y thanks :p

Pleased to be at Garven Island though

Very happy to be a member of the Fardingham ****atoos. The official press release neglects my previous good results in the now defunct Smash25. Hoping I can bring a lot of experience and hopefully fine results to the franchise. Looking forward to working with Heath.

Dazzlers Appoint Allrounder as Vice-Captain
By Bruce

Davistows newest sporting franchise, the Dazzlers, today appointed hard hitting all rounder Zac Gelman as vice-captain ahead of the Inaugural CW T20 Cup. Gelman, who is understood to be the closest adviser to CWLand dictator James Nixon, has quickly become a fan favourite here in sunny Davistow, and will play a major role in the Dazzlers attack on the T20 Cup.

Richards goes across town
Allrounder drafted by West Rob(b)ham

West Robham Rabid Wolves
Despite stating a desire to join East Robham, CW Black allrounder Dave Richards has been drafted by cross-town rivals, West Robham Rabid Wolves. Richards started life as a spinner, but in recent seasons has come on strong with the bat and looks prepared to be an outstanding asset in T20. Fast bowler Raghav Suryadevara joins him. A CW player of promise, Raghav is still learning his trade. T20 could be a valuable learning experience to push for a CW Red place in the upcoming Dev League season.
Signings: DP Richards, SV Raghav

East Robham Upper Body
After a stellar OD season in Sri Lanka, CW Red's Chris Dwyer has increased his stock tenfold. Bold strokeplay and consistent scoring establishes him as a player of great promise. Dwyer is a former spinner, but is unlikely to bowl at all, having given up his erratic fingerspin. With him is unproven seamer Andy Maina. All the young man has to show for himself is some experience in the T&T Super Cup, but he has the CW coaches talking with his bustling run up and solid technique.
Signings: CR Dwyer, AEK Maina

WRRW welcome being allocated Dave Richards and Raghav Suryadevara.

Both will be great additions to this fledgling Rabid Wolves squad.

Teenager!?:-O :@

Gutted to miss out on Dav. Stoked to have Dwyer however, should be top value for the crowd. Maina - can honestly say I'm not quite sure who you are, but it will be a pleasure to get to know you better and hopefully you can slot straight into the squad. :)

If you'd both like to check out the Upper Body thread, that'd be awesome.

Squads bulk up in Round 7
Veteran names headline round

Garven Island Turistas
Veteran batsman Robert Cribb played several years of hard time for CW Blue, struggling to impose himself and realize his potential with the bat. But after some authoritative signs of maturity in the last two years, Cribb looks prepared to take a leadership role. While his batting isn't quite tailor-fitted to the bustle of T20, a calm head and some handy legspin could make him a dark horse for the Turistas.
Signing/s: RGEWS Cribb

Davistow Dazzlers
Clapham's Dazzlers will be boosted to ten strong, when Daniel Towns and Gee Sriram arrive as the latest signings. Towns, a respected batsman with a solid technique, was once a promising ODI talent for CW XI. But the lack of opportunities saw him struggle, and he stands at the crossroads of his career. A respected leader at the Colts, Towns adds experience and composure, if not flashy strokeplay. CW Blue's Sriram emerged as an exciting talent in OD cricket in Season XIII, and has all the skills to set T20 alight. Accuracy is not always his strong point in the shorter form, but he swings the ball considerably and boasts a stunning strike rate.
Signing/s: DP Towns, G Sriram

Fardingham ****atoos
Chris Raftery endured a turbulent Season XIII, full of mixed signals. In the preseason he dominated and looked like the next big player to come from the CW Green Academy. But a run of poor form in the lower middle order saw him in and out of the side, and left to reconsider his approach. In the offseason he has worked on his defence and foot movement and looks prepared to tackle the hardships of CWLand cricket again.
Signing/s: CP Raftery

Morkambe Mathemagicians
Few seam bowlers have made as good a career of bowling slowly as Adam Collins. Accurate as ever, Collins never had the pace to be effective in the attack-minded one-day game. So it will be interesting to see how he fares as he attempts to master T20, or at least play a useful role for the Mathemagicians. His partner in arrival is Josh Forner, a man at the other end of the spectrum. Quick, erratic and inexperienced, Forner only began to show his true potential at the tail-end of Season XIII. He has since gained good experience with CW U-19, and it will be interesting to see whether T20 is the first format that he can establish himself in.
Signing/s: AAA Collins, JNE Forner

West Rob(b)ham Rabid Wolves
Quite possibly the biggest acquisition of the round, Sean Bennett transformed himself from a bowling allrounder in first-class cricket into an outstanding batting allrounder in the shorter form. A move to the top of the order brought a dramatic change in approach and achievement, and Bennett's batting has often been central to CW Red's success in OD cricket. His bowling has not been quite as successful, but Kev Gough could have an unassuming gamewinner on his hands.
Signing/s: SA Bennett

East Rob(b)ham Upper Body
Jack McNamara is now a veteran spinner for his beloved Cricket Web Colts, but aside from a brief spell in OD cricket, success has been elusive. At his best, McNamara is an economical left arm spinner who goes about his business with the ball and offers some purposefulness with the bat. Patrick will look to get that out of him, knowing that he's at least presented with a determined and respected individual.
Signing/s: JP McNamara

Nixontown Ninjas
Like so many of late, Dylan Cole started cricketing life as a spin bowler, but has reinvented himself as a middle order batsman. Though not usually the most attacking of players, Cole was reliable and prolific in three seasons in the Bahrain Cricket League. Now the prodigal son returns to Dev League cricket with high hopes of settling in with some authority. The second coming of Dave Richards? We wait to see.
Signing/s: DH Cole
