So, season 2 with the All time GB XI, sorry, Sunderland. Team for the start of the season is looking like this

...........................Steven Fletcher.........Shaun Maloney

Chris Blunt..............David Jones...........Dean Whitehead...Chris Burke

Steven Smith......Danny Higginbotham...Paul McShane......Nicky Hunt

............................................Craig Gordon

Subs: Mark Reynolds, any keeper, Giles Barnes, Ross Wallace, Michael Chopra.

other players in the squad worth a mention include Ian Harte, Sean Davis, Grant Leadbitter, Billy Jones, Anthony Stokes, Andy Reid, Kieron Richardson (cant sell him for love nor money)

Ryan Bertrand looking to come from Chelsea (looks a good future left wing back), haivng a sneaky punt to see if i can get Kevin Doyle, in which case bye bye Chopra.

----
Edit: Haha, got the bugger, £8m + 40% sell on (basically my entire transfer kitty left over, especially if i want to get Bertrand which'll cost me a mil). Get in there.

Signed Luke Wilkshire as a WB backup (can play both sides)

Having a pretty rough start to my EPL season
0-0 Draw with Villa at Home
1-0 Win with Fulham at Home
3-1 Loss with Everton away
3-2 Loss with Man Utd away
5-4 Win with Hotspurs at home

Coming tenth

the semi-finals are played over two legs. The winners qualify for the UEFA Cup

so if I win my Carling Cup (League Cup) Semi I get a UEFA Cup spot?

Well after losing Doudin and being unable to resign Carlier, my team understandably have been struggling a bit for goals and we lost 5 out of the first 6 games of the season. Since then, things have improved and after 13 games we've won 5 and lost 8 (no draws) to leave us a couple of points above the relegation zone. I've signed a couple of promising Austrian strikers and some wingers who have been tearing it up on the flank. Playing a 4-4-2 with my central midfielders both playing DM.

Getting Torres and Babel for 27m combined.
Hahaha.

Central midfielders are bit of a problem with, I have four but I'm having injury and fitness concerns, but I think I have found a free out of contract Dutch defensive midfielder and he is pretty content to play in Italy's lower leagues.

cpr, have you tried looking at Jose Baxter, James Vaughan or Daniel Sturridge?
Have looked at Vaughan and STurridge on this game, its a case of not yet really. Know they develop into good players, but up front is my strongest area, with Doyle, Fletcher, Maloney and Chopra and a damn good youngster called Waghorn (50 goals for the reserves/U18's last season).

Made a point of signing Baxter for united in a previous game though, aswell as John Fleck at Rangers.

ATM my money tends to go towards the first team squad rather than bringing through youngsters, probably start improving the youth next season (that and i'm spent up for the year and its not even August)

Winner of the Carling Cup qualifies for the UEFA Cup. If the winner is already in CL or UEFA Cup at the end of the season I think it's awarded on league position.

7 games to go in my second season with Clermont and I'm 3 points clear of the relegation places. There are only 7 points separating 8th and 18th so it's all very tight - I'm on a bad run of form at the moment so need some inspiration from somewhere to get me a few wins on the board and get me to safety. My next 3 games are all against top teams but the last 4 are against fellow relegation candidates so those matches will be key. It's going to be another interesting season finale...

Heh Man Utd went bankrupt so I got Michael Carrick for 5million pounds

Finshed 6th in EPL
Won Carling Cup
4th Round exit in FA Cup

Man Utd won the EPL (even with 9points docked)

Oh Herman Crespo is joining me on a free also.

Can't wait to see how much transfer money I get as I need to invest in more players

Second Season Signings

Michael Carrick (Man Utd)
Herman Crespo (Chelsea)
Lassana Diarra (Portsmouth)
Khalid Boulahrouz (Chelsea)
Tim Cahill (Everton)

Sold N'Zogbia didn't do anything last season and I have enough better players

Haha Newcastle would take that in real life IMO. For some reason September I'm absolutely dire. My strikers miss 100's of shots on goal, can't string two passes together, or do anything right, but after that I'm fine and even towards the end of August I go alright, but come September everything goes out the window for reasons I have no idea. This has happened with both Inter and Cittadella.

it's really stupid I beat Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool but can't take out Fulham

I could be in UEFA Championship instead of the cup if it wasn't for that
