*Official* English Football Season 2007-08

International Coach
Best premiership season for a while imo.
Agreed. People say the same top four is getting boring every year, but having three sides capable of winning it every year is an improvement on what it was at some points in the 90s and early 00s. And having a close title race, even if it was between the predictable teams, is infinitely preferable to one team running away with it, which has happened on occasion throughout history.

yeah exactly, I cant remember the last time that with 4-5 games to go there were three sides who all had a genuine chance of winning the title, not just two clear favourites and one with an oustide chance, but three sides who all could have won it forseeably.

Another reason is that Chelsea already have three right backs in Belletti, Ivanovic and Ferreira, seems a very odd signing.

Ivanovic is a rightback? Didn't know seeing as I've never seen him play for them. Means soemone might be leaving then.

Lots of them, but they're still (relatively) toss at right back. I will concur that the price is laughable.

And given Cashley's been largely **** since he signed, they're in fact weak down both flanks IMO.

Yeah, shadow of his former self since his departure from the arse. I don't think he ever quite recovered from the heinous insult of being offered £55k/week by Arsenal, and who can blame him?!

And to think he was a bit of a national hero after his awesome performance at the Euros in 04. I'd go his wife though.

Cashley Mole is one of the biggest wankers going at the moment tbh, that is all I have to say about him.

And I concur with Halsey, Chelsea are pretty weak at right back, the fact that their best player in that position is Essien despite the fact that have 3 other players who are meant to be specialist full backs says it all.

Ferreira is fairly average despite looking good at Porto, seems to drift in and out of the side whenever Belletti puts in a poor performance. Doesnt really add anything to the team, defensively or going forward.

Belletti is decent enough going forward, but can't defend, and hasnt been able to hold down a first team place.

Ivanovic was a bizarre buy, as iirc he hasnt played at all since signing...and I imagine now that Bosingwa is coming in, he will be shipped out.

And yes, its a stupidly high price for such a player (bosingwa)

Good win to Bristol City. That was a pretty good goal by Lee Trundle and I'm thankfull that it didn't go to a penalty shoot out which I thought would happen.
