*Official* English Football Season 2007-08

The ball hit his shoulder
I wouldn't argue that, I personally didn't think it was a penalty because it hit him so high up on his arm that he couldn't get his arm out of the way. Yes he leaned into it, this was with the original intention of blocking it legally, and then didn't have time to get out of the way once he realized he couldn't.

Haha, oh my god.

United got some decisions going their way. Big ****ing deal, tell me something new.

In other news, decent season for us. Would've liked to challenge the 'Pool a little more, but I guess there's not much we could do with our best player out for the majority of the new year.

Pulsating final day. Heskey's header had me on the floor. Almost unwatchable. Brilliant day in the end though naturally. Perhaps the sweetest title yet. :) :) :)
Bit sorry to see Reading down, had a nice few Irish contingent, no doubt Roy Keane will buy them up over the summer

On the Man U front, for me, it's why i don't respect Fergie quite as I should for his achievements and style of football. The ridiculous tirade after the Chelsea match was what caused this lily-livered officiating in this match, IMHO. It was a deliberate tactic too. Utterly frustrating really, because they'd of won that match anyway, even if they'd gone one down, they did it that way in '99 if I remember rightly. It's unnecessary, they're the best side, yet it just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

All just my opinion, and going by the countless arselickers in the medja genuflecting over him today, I guess I'm in the minority... and yes theres the argument that they're all as bad as each other, which just makes it all the more unsatisfactory whoever gets success really, and maybe if the guy at the top acted better, things would improve.

Anywhoo on a lighter note Leeds losing 0-2, and only the truly stone-hearted can not help but chuckle over that.

The bastards keep up their season long trend of late goals to make it 1-2, tie very much alive going up to Carlisle. If I've learned one thing about Leeds this season, it's not to write them off. If I've learned two, it's that their stewards and police aren't as obnoxious as those at Forest. If I've learned three, it's that I still hate Leeds much, much more. Keep them down so we can do them again next season, ****ing ****

tbh I don't think Man Utd got lucky with decisions at all really, and I am by no means a Man Utd fan. The Scholes challenge....well....it would certainly warrant a yellow card, but to hand out a second one and send him off for it would have been pretty weak imo. Similarly the Ferdinand incident where the ball hit his arm, not a penalty imo, would have been harsh. Can't begrudge Man Utd the win here or overall this season. Though I would give a lot of credit to both Chelsea and Arsenal, who both racked up a very impressive amount of points, that on other years would have been enough to win the league. Best premiership season for a while imo.

I just want to make it clear that I'm not for one second suggesting United were somehow lucky or undeserving of the title. I just think it was a penalty, that's all. If a player moves his arm to the ball & the ball strikes his arm, it should be a penalty. Bennett swallowed that decision, as he swallowed the Scholes second (non) booking.

Agree with both points tbh

Chelsea are set to sign Porto right back Jose Bosingwa, for a fee of £16.1m. Bosingwa is in London having his medical and is all set to go.

He leaned into it definitely, but he didn't move his arm towards it I didn't think. It hit him so high up on his arm, so near to the pivot of the arm that you can't really move that bit of the arm in any direction.

Won't disagree with the Scholes incident, I think he should have gone there.
