Good lord, so while Dallas and Phoenix are looking to fire under performing coaches the Nuggets and their band of luxury tax flops come out and say that Karl's job is safe

"In general, the last couple of years, the freedom, in a way, I think the players have kind of done it their way more often than doing it my way," Karl said. "As an organization, as a coaching staff, as a team, we're going to have to address that next year."

Most of the stuff we're talking about is little things of professionalism," Karl said. "Being on time more often, being more committed to practice, more committed to each other, more committed to the team, more committed to the organization, more committed to public service. Everything."

Wow, this guy is such a moron that he let that group of players run the team for two seasons? And next season by deciding to finally act like a coach is going to solve things?

I wonder what odds the bookies would give for a locker room mutiny next season. at least it won't be boring.

Oh and the Sixers :( . Oh well, draft like we've been doing recently and the future's bright. Still need one superstar, Iguodala is as good a second option as there would be in this league if he had a bonfide star next to him. Not going to carry any franchise however.

Nuggets problem is not the coach, but the likes guys like Carmelo, Kmart, AI etc. Nuggets are the new TrailBlazers of NBA.

Karl is a great regular season coach & a crappy playoff coach. It's been that way his whole career. Definitely from the Lenny Wilkens mold. Detroit & Boston were written off by Sanz, but one of them will represent the East in the Finals. Can't see Rivers or Saunders outcoaching Jackson or Pop. Still, Celtics are the best team in the league.

Nuggets problem is they don't have a coach. Karl's let the players do what they want for two seasonsin a row. Which is astounding considering the characters they have in that squad. He's a moron and anyone who's watched a fair share of Nuggets games can see how slow and uninspring he's been as a coach.

FFS the best he can come up with is "make the extra pass" or "don't forget rotations" when the team is fighting a run. Without any context of offensive structure or defensive training is not coaching. MIght as well tell them to "play better"

That playoff series just passed was embaressing. The players on offense didn't know where to move where to pass how to read a defence, and at the other end they had no idea how to rotate properly, avoid mismatches etc. It was like watching a proffesional basketball team take on a bunch of talented Street Ballers. Watching particular Nuggets games ths season and you'd struggle to believe they were an organised ball club.

I know the players do take some blame for their proffesionalism and intensity issues, but hell after having to listen to that moron for 2 years straight I'm not surprised they're tuning him out. He's created the comfort zome under which these guys currently underperform, he's not the same George Karl who got the Sonics to be contenders, back then basketball was everything to him but now after the cancers he's put it into perspective and he's mellowed out from being the firebrand that he used to be.

He's saying the right words now about how he's going to change but next season don't be suprised to see the "pass it to A.I or Melo, stand around and hope they create something" style offence that they have now, oh and play about 8 minutes of hard D every game too.

Celtics were the best team in the regular season , In the playoffs they clearly aren't.

Joe Johnson baby! Man, this would be a bigger shock than the Warriors-Mavs last season.
If the Celtics do survive this scare and make the finals I'm interested to see how they handle Kobe, Parker or CP3 after the torching Bibby and Johnson are giving them.

Mavs-warrior last year wasn't really much of a shocker. It was expected to be a close series with almost everyone outside of Dallas giving the warriors the edge on the basis of the matchups. But this one, no one expected Atlanta to even put up a fight and here they are 3-3 and the best team of the regular season playing the worst team (to make playoffs) and they probably will make it to the next round only because of the home court.

BTW Dallas has found its new coach. Good Choice I must say. They didn't have much choice anyway.

Nothing official yet. Talks are progressing with Rick Carlisle, but indications are they are in advance stages of negotiations. I like Carlisle. I think he has a good balance of preaching offense and defense.

Edit: Just noticed it Sanz, congrats on the 10,000 posts!

I would love for the Hawks to upset the Celtics! Nothing better than a smug Boston fan getting his ego deflated! That was one reason I cheered for the Giants (a division rival of my team Cowboys) over the Patriots.

Although there's no-one in that Celts organisation as cretinous as Bellichick, good lord their fans have been Lakeresque in their arrogance this season. Can't wait till that bubble is firmly burst.

Also, Ty Chandler has gotta be the most underrated C in the league. Anyone watch the job he did on The Big Fundamental? Kept Tim down to 5 points off 1-9 shooting and 3 boards in 37 minutes. Wow, this Hornets vs Spurs is going to be epic, more so than Jazz-Lakers IMO.

They need to play better on the road & close out tight games, and Rivers has to improve his rotations, but if they beat Cleveland it'll be all but forgotten that Atlanta took them to seven games. It's difficult to compare teams in the playoffs. Each series is about match-ups. Orlando swept their first round series, but they're not a better team than Detroit. The Lakers haven't lost a game yet, doesn't make them better than Boston.

Don't agree with Carlisle as Mavs coach. His playoff record is scratchy.

san antonio look like they are on their way out...probably continuing their every other season meltdown in the playoffs...

not too many coaches out there though who are willing and free to coach and have great playoff records...so they have to pick the best of whoever is available...in any case, it is difficult to see even a great coach being able to help them right now...after the half-baked mega deal in which they acquired an aging great trading away a big chunk of what could've been the future of the franchise...

This one isn't over yet, although Paul is absolutely amazing this year. Hope he doesn't get cold, he'd be such an awesome Finals MVP. However I'm not writing off Dunca, Parker, Popp and Ginobli just yet. They'll find a way to make the Hornets sweat, I'm sure of it.

Really rooting for NO though. How awesome would it be for them to win a National Title?

I'm actually shocked. Didn't expect the Spurs to be demolished like this. They can still come back, but it's going to be very very tough. As of the first round, the Spurs were still my pick to win it all. It's amazing that a playoff rookie, Chris Paul, is able to do what he's done against the defending champs. That guy is going to be a star for years!

i am not counting them out completely as well, but more than the losses themselves, it's the way they lost(the 3rd quarter meltdowns) that'd make it very difficult for them to come back...i am surprised that the usually stifling spurs defense hasn't been able to even slow down chris paul...tony parker who had such a superb series against the suns looks completely overmatched against cp...the athleticism of the hornets is really hurting the spurs...anyway i expect san antonio to put up a much better performance at home so let's see...

Dont know If I agree with the choice. Is it the best Season Kobe has ever had ? I am great fan of his and believe that he has been the best player in the NBA for the last 4-5 seasons by quite a distance but I believe this year Chris Paul should have been the MVP (or at least they should have shared the award).

On Lebron James, every time I watch him I dont understand the great hype about him. He is no where as good as Kobe and never will be. Once again an ugly substandard Playoff match is going on in Boston.
