Would love to be in a plate as well. Pretty disappointed that I didn't get a chance to play Nayak's team as I thought I had a chance there, but fair enough reason.

Think I'm going to pass on the Plate, I'm afraid; PFLs are a bit shot, and the OD run-in is going to be very close, so I'm going to concentrate on that.

Cheers for all the work organising btw; top job. CW cups get slicker every season. :)

Defeat against Best Indies is still probably going to screw up my CW Cup campaign, as it'll take something pretty bloody special for The Gurs to get up V Scaly!

Good game Sriram, though can't believe you elected to bat first, given the disparity between my batting and bowling attacks, that's got to be amongst the top three blunders of the Cup!

Out of interest (and laziness), how many upsets have there been in this comp? It's got to be some sort of record? Do people reckon that's just a sign of the CW field starting to bunch, or is there something more sinister afoot in the match engine. I've noticed more upsets generally this season, and have a theory that it's something to do with knackered PFLs, which isn't necessarily reflected in the reporter's summary?

PFL is definitely redflected in the reporter's summary. Explains 'Tinho's crap ratings.

Upsets have a lot to do with some teams resting players to preserve PFLs. Apart from 'Tinho lost to SDXI I don't any other side got a major upset against them playing their first XI.

PFLs have a major effect on ratings once players are fresh and below, as they have to performances as well.

Scaly challenged, I think at his, but the Combo box kept bouncing it back to mine. So if I've got it wrong mate, just send me a new challenge and I'll accept it.

OK, mickey mouse signups closed.

Six teams given byes to the mickey mouse quarter-finals, they are:

Alternative XI, BEST Indies, Brackenhurst, Connells Estates CC, Tamil Eelam CC, Viveash.

That leaves four teams for the first round:
Saggers Mob (6473) vs Coco's Nuts (6533)
Opening Balance (725) vs Tawonga Tigers (4929)

I'll put up the quarterfinals as well, but they're not until next week:
Alternative XI vs Saggers Mob/Coco's Nuts
BEST Indies vs Viveash
Opening Balance/Tawonga Tigers vs Connells Estates CC
Brackenhurst vs Tamil Eelam CC

And reiterating the main draw:

Jamees 999ers (3765) v Kipper XI (4666)
Magical Ponies (5409) v Boggles (7145)
Withington Wonderers (425) v Asterix XI (1766)
Whenuapai CC (1569) v Citizens Erased (7153)
Scaly Piscine CC (4132) v Cymru Gurgitaters (3688)
Sad Decadent XI (6708) v Dynamo Morpork (1837)

Lancashire (195) v Four Pillars And Poor Fillers (4913)

Challenged Citizens at my place, although I had wondered, am I actually meant to be at home, seeing as a I finished runner up in my group?

Home and away were randomly drawn.

I figured it was enough of an advantage being seeded to face a runner-up.
