CW Battrick Cup, season nine

Ghey. I hate your way of doing it. Oh well, means i miss Canning XI, and probably fall into the better side of the draw.
I have to confess to having thought of trying to partially throw the game to only win by a small margin but I was far too worried about winning in the first place to risk it. I did cheat a little though by throwing my OD game so my PFLs have improved a smidge.

GG though. :)

Maidens 7-1-26-1
Mcgregor* 64 (95 balls)

Last Wicket: Reed Run Out 19 (FOW: 94/2)

Would fancy my chances from here.

End of Over 40: 185-3, runrate=4.63, reqrunrate=10.10 (285-8)
Scott 10-0-57-0
Sandwith* 46 (34 balls)
Fish 40 (45 balls)

101 required from the last ten...surely can't lose?

The Gurs got up over Citizens Erased, btw. Both teams qualified, Sriram in first, unless BEST Indies were to thump 120 in the last 64 balls.

Meanwhile, Sandwith has woken.

Rock 8-0-61-1
Fish* 61 (61 balls)
Sandwith 84 (54 balls)

They've been hitting 9 an over for the last few...but that's not enough!

Well, at least the spectators have had a good day out...

Down at the roots of my fingers tbh. Going to look like a Greek statue soon.

34 required off 19...

Oh, and Lancashire beat Opening Balance by 99 runs to win Group B

15 off 8. Even Fish is hitting the boundary now

11 off 7...Sandwith's hundred

10 off 6. Dunno why I paid seven million for Cort, he's rubbish.

9 off 4...DOT BALL?! Where did that come from?! And Fish still on strike!

8 off 3...Withington need a boundary and a three.

7 off 2. Magnificent return from James at third man.

6 off 1. Last ball is Rock to Sandwith. He'll win it with a slog.

SINGLE! This game can kill. Dynamo win by four runs and face Anchormen in round two.

Been some phenomenal games in this cup, been great to read about them. Shows that the pack isn't as far spread as it used to be if you take out certain individual sides.

Damn it!

IMMENSE final over from Rock -- 11 required, just 5 conceded.

Good game, and I'll get my revenge next season...

Quality viewing. :)

Brackenhurst Cup Stats -

Justin Hindle - 61 runs @ 20.33, S/R (39.35), 2 wickets @ 58.00, Eco (4.88), 1 catch
Formed a quality opening parntership with Burnip, holding up an end. Generally kept the runs to a minimum, when bowling and batting, and took vital wickets in the final match.
Zia Burnip - 152 runs @ 50.33, S/R (78.35)
Got worse as the Cup went on, but still proved he's a big name for Brackenhurst. Batted sensibly and turned it on when we needed it. Second best bat in the team no doubt.
Pete Bardle - 45 runs @ 22.50, S/R (68.18), 5 catches
Didn't have a great deal to do, but performed admirably when called upon with bat or gloves. Gun.
Peter Hamlin - 188 runs @ 188.00, S/R (106.21), 1 catch
Haha, what do you say? Would make any CW side easily and probably dominate. Scored in every game and quickly. His last innings against the Panthers was incredible. I give his thread 5 stars. Hamlin - we salute you.
Ty Browne - 34 runs @ 17.00, S/R (130.77)
Glancing upon his stats, you'd think Browne was a passenger. Untrue. Scored quickly when others were failing, but more importantly, is one of the best captains on CricketWeb. Unique field placements and stops in the field were worth their weight in gold.
Matthew Nott - 20 runs @ 20.00, S/R (58.82)
Not really called upon, but showed enough signs to suggest he's a middle order mainstay.
Karl Angus - 0 runs @ 0.00, S/R (0.00)
Lolcatcoaster. Two innings, two golden ducks. Held us back and cracked.
Graham Brazier - 75 runs @ 75.00, S/R (55.15), 1 catch
Played the innings of his career and probably won't play a better one. Ever. Showed maturity beyond his years and batting beyond his stats. Will be payed in beer.
Dean Holmes - 1 wicket @ 66.00, Eco (4.13)
Kept the runs down when others were struggling. Move to death bowler a good one. May it stay that way.
Mushtaq Littlejohn - 3 wickets @ 82.00, Eco (8.20)
Dreadful in the first two matches, but no matter how expensive, was inspired in the third. Never stopped trying. Getting Bertos in the third rates as a better moment than any of his 5-fors, no doubt. Looking forward to seeing his development and earnt himself an extra net for tomorrow. :)
Arthur Greene - 2 wickets @ 31.50, Eco (4.27), 1 catch
Didn't get much of a chance to display his trade, but made an impact when he could. So, so hard to score off and took the big wicket when it was needed. gun4lyf
Dwayne Smart - 5 wickets @ 22.40, Eco (4.87)
Smarters. WAG. Takes huge wickets, always looks threatening. Without him, we couldn't mount half a challenge. Under rated, but never forgotten, I heart Smart.

I'm really sorry, about the forfeit, but I'm afraid it couldn't really be avoided, I didn't have internet for the last three days. And I was on a flight from HK, the day before, I tried arranging it on Monday but couldn't. On run-rate, If I was to go out, then I would have no problems with that, but please don't just kick me out because I couldn't accept.

Should have said you would have had troubles on Monday IMO.

Still. You did beat Anchormen, you have a better NRR than Anchormen, you posted a valid reason for the forfeit here eventually. I'm probably not a valid umpire as I'll meet whoever goes through, but I think it may have been a bit harsh to throw you out based on one forfeit.

Oh dammit!

There were bound to be repercussions from my recent selling spree, but ****ing up the orders in the CW Cup wasn't supposed to happen.

Connells Estates - All out 151 (Middleton 50*, Erasmus 5-20)
Magical Ponies 155-6 (no standout performances)

The mistake. Rideegamenegadera bowled 5 - 0 - 27 - 0 whilst Ireland whiled away in the field.

The other opening bowler, Skalding, wasn't supposed to play either, Batty was supposed to be in there.

Ireland - Remarkable/Wonderful vs. Rideegamenagedera Abysmal/Respectable and never having bowled in a one-day match before.

Whoops. Had a chance there, and ****ed it up big time.
