I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Heritage round this week as the game is now 100 years old in Australia.
Yeah, but not referring to just this week either. Remember last year seeing a few different jerseys, though I'm guessing there just happens to be a lot of anniversaries these days for clubs and other things like that.

Plus the away strips...

Soccer clubs are worse IMO.

Was a fantastic game last night. The atmosphere at Skilled is something else.

Broncos were robbed a few times by the ref, but they really lost the game with their very poor start. Probably the best last 10 minutes of a footy game I can remember (that I've been to).

Brisbane Broncos have appointed current assistant coach Ivan Henjack as head coach from next season for two years.

He will have Alan Langer and Shane Webke as his assistants. No assistant coach has been named yet.

Excellent appointment, and I think he'll do a good job with the boys.

Hardly see how they were robbed by the ref, who was equally shocking against both teams throughout the match, especially in the 2nd half. Which was a shame tbh, considering Archer has been outstanding over the past 12 months.

For starters, there was no way the Broncos' last pass went forward. Shocker. There were many others.

As I said, Archer had a poor night, but there was no way it affected one team, more than the other.

EDIT: Don't know why anyone ever tips the Dragons tbh :p

$100 on Brisbane -1.5 at 1.91
$50 on Manly at 2.20

Profit.
Need to sort out my maths. I actually lost $40.

Looking at the stats St George/Illawarra were a bit more disciplined than previous weeks. Were never in the game though. Ben Creagh 17 hit ups :-O Anyone watch it?

Good to see Nutley back playing again and Thompson scoring a try in his last game. Looks set to be a fairytale send off at this early stage.

They're going to win one game, here or there, and the Bulldogs haven't been travelling well. Was more of a gut feeling than anything. Won't do it again for a long time.

If the Dragons learnt to catch, they'd be a 5 times better side. Can't see that happening for a while though.

Haha yeah. Feel sorry for Nathan Brown. It reminds me of when Homer was given the Denver Broncos.

Probably doesn't help that league transfers so well onto television. All the action pretty much happens within the scope of the cameras. You don't lose much by not being there, aside from atmosphere.
Very fair point, actually. As an AFL noob (& an English one at that) I can't quite shake off the feeling that telly only captures a fraction of what's really going on. League's offside rule means, by defintion, for the majority of the game the action is centered around the ball, it's only very occasionally that something crucial is missed (like dummy half floating a ball to an umarked runner, say).

Decided to replace M. Bowen for K. Gidley in my dream team, how I regret that now.
