Munaf, Trivadi, Warne and Watson look a better bowling unit than the over-rated B'lore's of the last game

And it's predictable that as soon as a spinner comes on, the domestic players look different
Munaf has completed his transformation (at least in limited overs cricket) into a poor medium bowler. Trivedi is average at best too and Watson is a wholly unremarkable bowler at the best of times.

I disagree

With which part?
I think Munaf is a pretty good bowler and not poor by any means .... Trivadi looks promising .... Watson is a decent bowler to have around, though not someone who should be opening the bowling

This is what I saw when I got the controls from the cartoons dad was watching

We didn't quite see Akshay Kumar doing his stunts live as that other match was still on. We had, however, seen a whole lot of fireworks, which interrupted the talk between Pommie and MOM Maharoof. We had, however, heard Akki talk in the commentary box, and Tony Cozier expressed his desire to go gliding over flames. My, oh, my! The Rajasthan challenge depended a lot on the explosive Yusuf Pathan, but after he was run out attempting a very risky single, it fizzled out. They lost too many wickets (including a run-out due to indecision), and the well-knit Delhi bowlers pegged away at the stumps. The fielding supported them nicely, and even Rajat Bhatia, a slow-medium pacer, used the available movement to good effect. The Royals batsmen scratched around a little, and avoided getting bowled out, but there were too many dot balls. Ravi Jadeja and Dinesh Salunkhe did what their more fancied couterparts failed- but only to a limit.

The target was no major threat to the daredevil batsmen, in a hurry to finish off the match quickly. Sehwag hit Watson for three fours before Watto castled him. The Royals' fielding tried really hard to support their largely average bowling- but there were several tough catching chances missed, some direct hits were missed and Munaf was abominable out there. Sid Trivedi wasn't very useful, but he tried. Gambhir smashed a 50, while Dhawan sneaked quickly to his own. Even Shane Warne had his problems. The partnership of Gambhir and Dhawan was, in a word, clinical. Good show by locals.

Why, oh, why, did the Royals run themselves out? Yusuf Pathan was in good nick! And Watson, oh well. Anyway, Maharoof was MOM with two for eleven, and the Delhi players were wearing their nicknames on their T-shirts. Pidge? Someone's watching that silly first season of Voltron! Can't wait for 'Chip'.

I think Munaf is a pretty good bowler and not poor by any means....
He is talented and has the ability to be a good bowler when he cranks the pace up to 135-140kph, but rarely does that. He seems convinced that he must cut down on his pace - the follow through (or lack thereof) is evidence of his lack of effort at the crease.

Trivadi looks promising ....
No, he doesn't. He is a good domestic bowler and no more.

Watson is a decent bowler to have around, though not someone who should be opening the bowling
True.

He's an average domestic bowler, and there are better bowlers than him. He just holds a Border-Gavaskar scholarship.

Technical glitch caught on TV

"We will now go in for a break..do we have a break?"

"We have a special guest..." It was Arun Jaitley, but we saw a techie adjusting something on the right.

yeah, Munaf has the ability to bowl fast but i guess he is bowling within himself coz he keeps breaking down .... Never the less, he looked pretty good out there

Do you expect Trivadi to bowl like Lee?

thats a pretty decent effort on a pitch like this where the batsmen are always going to score duh

I stopped watching the game in the middle of the Delhi innings partly because it was a no-contest but also because of the terrible TV coverage on SET Max. Indian cricket coverage is always filled with annoying pop-up ads but this time you even had obnoxious jingles drowning out the commentary. Seriously I don't know why companies pay money for such intrusive ads. Getting the viewer's attention by constantly annoying him isn't helping your brand.

Doggonit...don't get me started on Godrej and Vodafone ad-clips!

He looked vaguely okay. I don't think he bowls within himself because he keeps breaking down, I think it is because he feels that pure line and length is the best way to go in 50overs and T20s as well as being horribly unfit. I can't believe that the BCCI has not done more to help someone who bowls 15kph under pace and can still vaguely impress whilst doing so.

Speaking of bowlers, Geeves looked pretty unimpressive to me too. I think that it would be better for Delhi to play Sangwan.

No, I expect him to bowl like Trivedi. But to be a good bowler, he'd need better accuracy, some movement and about 5kph more of pace.
Can't we say that for most bowlers who bowled in the other 2 games?

He is not the worst bowler to have played in the IPL - but that does not mean that he bowled well.

you can think what you want .... and pace means little without line and length, *cough Tait*

and him being unfit and what BCCI has to do are different issues .... if you are saying that he is not a good bowler because he bowls within himself then thats not a valid point .... you don't become a bad bowler by bowling within yourself or a bad batsman by playing within yourself

how other bowlers have bowled tells you something abt the trend /surfaces offered in a tournament, doesn't it?
