Sorry, all I know is that Howard Webb (sigh) is refereeing.
Oh well, never mind.

I knew it was Webb. It was just after my answer yesterday to the "what famous person went to your school" thingy, I remembered Mike Mullarkey went to my school, as I've mentioned here before, I think. I knew he'd gone into reffing, but hadn't looked at his progress for a while.

I googled him, and found out he had been part of Webb's team at one point. They go around in packs nowadays, the collective noun is almost certainly "bunch". Just wondering if he's still with him. If so he could be one of the few Englishman at The Euros, if they choose Webby.

Fair dos, not having actually experienced a Merseyside derby back in the day, I'm only going on hearsay, so you're better placed to comment. I don't doubt it's always been a massive fixture, however I'd always thought that the rivalry was a friendly one rather than one of genuine hatred.
I think that's always been the reputation, but it has still always been the game both sides wanted to win more than any (well, Liverpool would probably rather beat your lot,it's a split actually). Nowadays, it's awful, despise derby day. People appear out of the woodwork and are just complete *****. Never prouder to be a white than derby day.

How is that even possible?

In other news, we're back in the playoffs. The rollercoaster ride runs on.
really only started to follow the EPL around the time that Cahill moved to Everton, and Kewell to Liverpool. I was supporting both teams, and back then, I never knew they were rivals etc, and by the time I found out, it really didn't bother me.

No, the same goes for Everton if Cahill ever left. <3 Torres & Arteta

In an Ideal world, Liverpool would win the Champions League, and Everton finish 4th, that way they could both play CL next season. Unfortunately that looks unlikely now :(

The way they've set it up this year is that if a team who finish outside the top 4 wins the CL the team finishing 4th misses out, so yer Toffos would need to be 3rd to be safe.

Well, that sucks. I guess I'll be relying on Arsenal to not get a point in their remaining games then :p

Word out, but alot of hooligans are over there most of the time though although security is tight. The North stand has the fan zone though, last year when Chelsea drew 1-1 here Cantona & Sir Bob Charlton came in to sign autographs, plus the best birds are in the north stand all adds up to a very sophisticated enviroment.
Naah, not really many hooligans, very little violence at utd these days. Stretford End is where i've found the stewards and police most relaxed tbh.

Not funny at all, how could OT not get an ashes test is beyond me especially given what has occured in recent Ashes contest on the ground. Giving a test (the opening test) to cardiff is a total disgrace IMO.
Because OT isnt an international cricket ground. Its big, but its old and impractical. Wait till its redeveloped IMO. Needs the money spending desperately

Liverpool fans complaining about the ref not giving penalties every time Gerrard falls over inside the box. Morons.

If you want a **** referee boys, go have a look at the crap that features in the Conference.

Either way, he's still good enough to be the difference between the sides. I don't think it can possibly be acknowledged how gun Steven Gerrard is.

Hmm, decent first-half from Le Arse. Man U will up it in the second half though, and Adebayor will rue his missed chances.

and Eboue still crap.

We have been inviting pressure onto ourselves by giving the ball away in dangerous areas too much - Park and Pique the main culprits here. Ronaldo is yet to turn up, but I still think he's lurking in dangerous areas. Both our fullbacks have pushed forward, which is fine, especially at home, but they're not being covered, one of these episodes really should have ended with Adebayor scoring when they exploited the fact that Evra was miles up the pitch.

Arsenal have played well in midfield, they've been poor in the final third and poor defensively however, think this can be exploited.

Arsenal get a goal that's been handballed into the net. Can't really blame the officials, in no position to see it.

Poor from VDS again, that's the keeper's ball, from where Rio was, had he attempted to get a head to it, he'd have scored an own goal. And Rio just illustrates what I'm saying.

Penalty - get in. Come on Ronnie.

EDIT: 1-1. Class penalty tbh.

Well VDS's save from Rio probably the key moment in this season, 2-0 would of been tough.

Clearest pen I've seen all season.

Manure will piss this now. Unless Walcott can come on and do summat.

FFS. We scored too early. Can't keep a lead for love nor money against any half-decent team.

Hate football so much, only convince myself I enjoy it between games.

Yep, for all VDS's poorness with the goal, key save, even if he didn't know much about it.

EDIT: And another good save from his own player. Come on United ffs.

Hargreaves, get in there. Class free-kick. Now be sensible lads.
