Cricket isn't formulaic, it ebbs and flows and produces the unexpected. Both battrick and FTP try to recreate this and I feel they don't do a bad job. I've been ****ed over in FTP twice over the last few weeks and many-a-time in BT, but I take it in stride because I reaslise that the creators are trying to recreate the realism in it.

I know you live in this formulaic world where everything is black and white and one thing is better than the other every time, but that's just not how it works. If the better team always won in BT, no-one but Pob and labrooy would be playing it. Same works for FTP imo.

Beevs reply:
wahhh wahhhh
Err the better team nearly always wins in BT because the pitches have no character, they're just simply bowler friendly or batsmen friendly or somewhere in between - things such as a pretty decent spinner taking 5-5-0-3 against a good team on a green + cloudy & humid happen regularly. It's only this season that Pob has actually started losing the odd game, which is a bit odd considering because he has a lot stronger and more solid side than he had before - but it's likely down to his lack of an uber bowler. The matches in BT are very predictable btw.

Anyway spinners regularly taking stuff like 5-0-15-1 on a flat in the opening overs is bulldust. Guess what happened when my seamers opened the bowling in the same match? Yep 5+ an over. It's not ebbing or flowing or any other crap your mind can try and conjure up as some token argument presented as unquestionable wisdom from a supreme deity.

Anyone else noticed that their captains are taking significant fitness hits? I notice that I hardly give my captain a break with the bowl after he opens the bowling. But I was just wondering if it was that or a trend in the game for captains. Seems realistic if you take in account mental fitness i guess, but just wanted to know is that was what is happening.

Same here although my captain is also a bowling all rounder and does quite poor endurance anyway even the guy who fills in for him gets bigger fitness hits.

Playing SKD in a friendly. Smashed 400 against his side. I think that is the first time I hit 400 against a non bot.

Code:
End of over 50 (5 runs) - Jaffna Jets(403-2) RR 8.06
K. Sandanayake 58 (38b) , A. Kodikara 61 (31b) , D. Truemer 10-0-100-1
They got a new funtion, the worm. They love their little features in this game.

Also for any guys that haven't noticed we starting sign ups for new CW League next season.

- Two other 17yo batsmen to reasonable batting and a technique pop on of those guys.

I've just signed up for this game. My team is called "Navman Cheesecake"

Any tips on what I should be doing at the start? My best players are 'average', I've nothing better than that. Sounds pretty **** to me, so your help would be appreciated.

And here's my team

Better starting team then what I had TBH. Just pick whether you want to train someone as batsmen, bowler, keeper or all rounder and go from there really.

Is there any way to increase the effect of training? Do players improve better at a young age like in battrick? I've got a couple of decent youth players I think - Andrew Mace and James Smart.

Invest more in the acadmey and that increases the effect of training. But I wouldn't invest too much to start off with until your finances are settled.

Also check out the CW FTP Championship thread, we need a couple more sides to make a D2.
