We can tell you that Boggles won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 43: 210-1, runrate=4.88
Chanderpaul 7-0-57-0
Mclean* 49 (61 balls)
Caldwell 104 (129 balls)
Last Wicket: Kepler c. Moodley b. Bardle 50 (FOW: 79/1)

vitstl, hope he loses.

Playing Sad Decadent XI aws. Resting three bowlers (Lancaster, Watkins, Ellis) but only needed two anyway.

End of Over 9: 24-10, runrate=2.67
Downer 4-0-16-6
Whitehorne 4-0-7-4
Wasn't expecting much frankly.....but that's really quite terrible.

Up against the Cymru Gurgitators, the Beards have posted a total way in excess of their manager's wildest dreams; it may still not be enough to defend against the Gurs' exceptional top order, but it's a damn sight better than the 140ish we managed last season. Platt and Janes the main contributors with 101 and 130* respectively. Top stuff.

End of Over 50: 277-4, runrate=5.54
Jeffery 10-0-64-1
Janes* 130 (125 balls)
Ganfield 7 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Alshaun b. Jeffery 6 (FOW: 241/4)

If i cant beat The Heath CC, which i should do easily, it will nearly give me the group.

PY lost to him today, for those that didnt know. Rested too many players. Wont get that from me though.

Well, I did indeed lose to Trev but it was a perfectly respectable loss, unlike last season's mauling. The lads fought well (I would never have thought we'd score 277 on a slow pitch), but in the end a lack of early (or middling, or late) wickets took its toll. Needed an Oleary special, really, but up against a wonderful top order it was never on the cards. Well played, Trev.

Beard XI 277-4 (50.0o): Janes 130*, Platt 101, Wilde 1-45, Bewers 1-49
Cymru Gurgitators 278-2 (48.3o): Greening 138*, Noon 124, Oleary 1-49

2nd place all comes down to how knackered Sriram's players are next week, I reckon; The Gurs have got this group sewn up, for my money.

Played Heath. :) I had to rest my players to be honest because need the fitness, but you beat a team with quite a few regulars in so taking nothing away.

I'm quite likely to continue resting players throughout the competition as I would like to stay in the Ranji so need to GFI all my remaining games.
