Yeah I guess it will be hard to find the time to run and sim both the main comp and academy. But how are you going to get the managers who might miss out on a spot still interested in the game and get new managers involved without a secondary comp. Really I can't see the point of starting it up all over again. Then cutting and bits of pieces of it, cus the workload will be too hard. The last thing you need is half hearted concept. To run the game properly you need to secondary comp of some format IMO. Either start is up again properly or just don't worry about.who would sim the academy, the way I see it is Bugs you are the only one keen to sim matches and imo you'll have you're plate full with wcc alone.
Anyway if going to rejoin I dont mind who I manage, whoever is left really...
As you see in my main post there my main priority would be to get WCC up and running and then look at how many people we have waiting and then decide on a secondary form. Again WCC got out of hand, it got too much for one or even two people to run, what I'm proposing is basically what WCC looked like in season 2. As you can see I'm not saying no to an academy but someone is going to have be committed to making it work.Yeah I guess it will be hard to find the time to run and sim both the main comp and academy. But how are you going to get the managers who might miss out on a spot still interested in the game and get new managers involved without a secondary comp. I just don't see the point of starting it up again and then not having an avenue for new managers to get involved and interested in the game. You will probably just end of with the same situation Tharmi had with some sides not being able to find managers for the main sides, as no new managers were signing up.
So glad I stepped down now.* Reset all squads to real life - managers can pick up to two existing "fake or rookie" players from that clubs existing team list. e.g only WA can choose H Jenkins, only Yorkshire can choose W Tendulkar etc...
In you're case I see you are taking over a newly named SL domestic side, I'd be happy for you to have you're pick of the Colts' rookies, if someone is taking over one of the domestic RSA teams then I'd allow them to pick from whichever of the RSA teams they like, prefarably one they were previously affiliated with.So glad I stepped down now.
Quick question with the restructing of domestic leagues in SL and SA. How would rookie allocations work for fake or rookie players. Considering Colts, Galle, Northerns and Free State are in the lesser domestic leagues in Sri Lanka and South Africa. To give potential managers from those countries are fair chance with current real squads they would be made from the provincial or franshise sides, right? So cus those sides didn't exist would that mean they get no rookies or would their be exceptions based on nationalities for those teams?
Also think we should have atleast the option of adding real players from other clubs not in the league through either a draft or open draft. I'm sure most managers would back their ability to get a crap team up to standard in two seasons or so. But would be disappointing if we lost the potential to have some top International players not in the game from the start due to their club not getting selected. Even just a short 3-4 round draft would be good.
Yeah I'll that later today, I'll try and organise it a bit. As I end up with stuff everywhere a bit. I doubt the CD will fit in an email, so I'll post that you. Also Tharmi can you please email me over the WCC stuff thanks, dcoulthardf1@hotmail.com
With regard to the 2nd point. With the nature of domestic cricket these days there is a lot of transfers between states/provinces/counties. So there could be an option to only draft in 2-4 players from your domestic league. This would mainly help sides from smaller countries as most managers will choice Australia and English teams, so they wont have many players to sign from. But for smaller countries it would allow us to get some top players from the other states/provincies to even out out squad. If you limit to local drafts/trades then the sides will still look every much like real teams. In you're case I see you are taking over a newly named SL domestic side, I'd be happy for you to have you're pick of the Colts' rookies, if someone is taking over one of the domestic RSA teams then I'd allow them to pick from whichever of the RSA teams they like, prefarably one they were previously affiliated with.
Not sure about you're second point, one of the reasons of a reset is to get squads back to that of real life and if we throwing in pools of new players we will see a situation where squads will very quickly resemble nothing of the real life ones, if you have an idea to combat this happening then im all ears.
Bugs to be fair you didn't really have a plan, I don't want to have a go at you because we all know you mean well but there's a lot involved and you simply just said you wanted to take over, but there were no clear cut idea's or anything.
