No, not who the ****, where the ****. I know about the famous Boycott ball and I know he was a damn good bowler - but his partnership with Hastings wasn't listed on that list.

Aha, now I see. Highest in the fourth-innings.
Well try spelling out words then instead of using ****ing acronyms.

Ind33d, I may have come across as harsher than I intended? Perhaps a Wink smiley might've helped.

John Bracewell doesn't sound terribly stupid to me TBH. First time I've ever actually heard him speak just now.

Not Terrible
I can't seem to persuade statsguru to show me people who have taken a 5-fer and scored a 50 on debut, anybody else getting any luck?

Could it be that it's never happened?

Apparently, no-one who has scored 50 on debut has ever taken a single wicket in the game.

Its always Interesting to watch the test series between NZ & ENG. There have been many memorable matches and this series also has got 3 fantastic matches to remember. Eventhough NZ lost, They tried hard. Its been good. It would have been better if the series had been a 5 match stuff.

Bruce Taylor won't be on that list as he got a 5-for and a 100 in his debut test in India 64/65 I think.

If thats the case, Tim Southee will take the honours as the only player to score a 50 and take a 5-for

Good stat for Southee to beat

"Wow! Southee now has more runs than Martin in Test cricket - and he's played one Test to Martin's 40!" - Cricinfo

James Anderson in 1 ODI at McLean Park took 10-86-1 and in 1 Test took 24-153-1. In the ODI, 8.6-an-over; in the Test, 6.37-an-over.

I guess he'll hope he never plays here again.

As Fleming sets off into the sunset, will Vettori finally stamp his mark with a side that doesn't bear any resemblance to the Fleming side?

Vettori is the captain, would he also be the one who says who's in and who's out?

I hope that he takes a young side under his wing, with McCullum as his Vice Capt, and a young Ross Taylor and a young Southee. Foundations there to form a side with - a bowler, a batsman, a wicket keeper and himself as the senior captain.

Who will join them in this quest to England to debut at Lords, and start a new chapter in Black Caps' namesake short history?

The New Zealand batsmen's strike-rate this series was 54.05.
The England batsmen's strike-rate this series was 43.20.

Who said he who dares wins?
