**Official** England in New Zealand

So how much will England collapse for in this innings?

Then how much will NZ collapse for in the 4th innings?

Odds on the game lasting until Tea tomorrow?

Fleming's innings summed up his career.

Can't believe how pathetic the batting has been. Mind you, Sidebottom rocks!!!

How annoying this is to arrive home from a day out in the sun, and find that the Kiwis are all out for 168.

Dear oh dear. Wasn't this pitch meant to be a batsman's paradise?

There are 15 sessions in a five day test match: NZ can play well enough for 14 sessions however we always have one bad session and that is where we **** up.

Every game we've had one piss poor session and its cost us in Wellington and may cost us here. Of course its day 2 so I'll refrain from judgement on who will win. England have momentum though.

A positive for our second innings is Napier is a road and we'll have roughly two days to chase the total. That means our batsmen can just put the bad balls away. The negative is our batsmen haven't learnt the art of patience.

I'm pretty annoyed so I hope I'm not going OTT but that is just the way I see it.

On Tim McIntosh wasn't he on the verge of the test side a few years ago? He's a number three aint he?

Greg Hay might as well pack his bags. AFAIC he deserves a place in the tour squad at least.

McIntosh through to 191* for Auckland...
McIntosh had appalling technique last time I saw him. Granted that was last year, but as I recall he boosted his average last season with a big hundred which made him look a lot more convincing than his technique actually demonstrates. Would be terribly exposed in international cricket and would be another short term selection until he fails and is dropped and Papps/Cumming/Bell comes back.

Only Taylor and Elliott were actually got out today. Great day to be a bowler when the batting line up fails abysmally.

Wow, interesting days play.

Looks a top effort from Sidebottom, though I only saw the Bell wicket.

KPs innings looking like a blinder.

It was, but the rest of the batting has just been so terrible that it has made the pitch look an awful lot worse than it is.

As KP showed on the first day and Fleming and How briefly did today, it's far from a minefield.

What a waste of time going to watch that second session live from an NZ fan POV. Sidebottom superb.

I was with Prince EWS on Sinclair, but that was one of the worst shots I've seen from a Batsman attempting to justify his spot in the test team. Unless we get a public apology never to do that again and a chanceless 220* in his second innings he is a goner.

Fleming - aptly summed up his career really.

McCullum might as well stay in India earning $$$ while the Blackcaps are playing the tests in England, again he comes in at 5 down for not many in the first innings and plays like it's a 20/20, throwing his wicket away. Give Hopkins a chance in the tests and maybe McCullum will wake up.

The difference between the two sides has been Ryan Sidebottom.

Hmm all the hunch selections have come off this year, do ya reckon they'll try Martin Guptill? I watched his hundred in the List A final and his timing is exquisite. I can't remember what his technique is like though.

Why do so many of our batsmen have poor technique?

Guptill's certainly a player for the future, I was hugely impressed by his one-day batting too.

But his FC record is worryingly poor at the moment. I wouldn't be in favour of bringing him in yet. Although I thought it was too soon for Southee too...

McCullum is pretty obviously trying to be like Gilchrist. Attacking batting to get yourself out of a tight situation. There's only one problem with that...he isn't anywhere near as good as Gilchrist.

But I thought he was some money greedy whore who was more concerned with the ICL and some moron who gave him false information. The person responsible should be jettisoned onto White Island (of the coast of the Bay of Plenty).

We don't do enough jettisoning for mine.
