That wasn't so hard, was it, Ted?

I'm glad it's just two years, but I can certainly see an internal handing over of the reins coming up in 2009 - most likely to Hansen.

Don't like Hansen for some reason...seems a bit too 80's or something for me. Average player too, but then again so was Ted

There were obviously a lot of politics, with the NZRU not wanting to admit that they f'ed up the World Cup just as much as anyone else by giving Henry everything he wanted, but Henry is media savvy, something Mitchell and Deans really strugged with and I think that played a part in him being reappointed. He's already started redeeming himself with the "apology". Just you wait, people will quickly forget about Deans.

Looking forward so much to the big game in pool 5 of the Heineken Cup tomorrow. Munster did well last week to come back from France with the bonus point and have it in their own hands now. Fancy a close game with Munster winning by 5-7 points. Don't really care how much they win by though, once thats what they do. Will be gutted if they lose out at this stage but they simply don't lose at Tolmand Park.

Should be a good game. I'll be cheering for Wasps, however dirty that makes me feel.

Definitely not the best conditions for rugby but still what a game from a Munster type of view. Donncha O'Callaghan along with all the line out were eminence. Ronan O'Gara kicked some brilliant kicks as well. In true Munster fashion though, despite being on top for the majority of the game, they left it late to secure their 10th consecutive qualification for the Heineken Cup quarter finals. Delighted roll the Quarter Finals :)

Union's greatest hits from YouTube. Not absolute text-book technique some of them, but there are some old favs in there: particularly remember Josh Lewsey nailing Mat Rogers from 2003. Anyway it's 4 minutes of blokes smashing **** out of each other, what more do you want?

Seen that video about 15 times, and it really does get better every time.

Best one is Ben Kay on Gregan on RWC Final 2003.

Bump for European Cup quarters.

London Irish have beaten Perpignan (stream went down for that...grunt.), Munster are barely having any ball against Gloucester, except for one huge five-minute drive to score a try and 8-0 up. Oh yeah, Paterson missed three kicks for Gloucester.

Fair play to Munster. Home advantage in the quarters is a pretty sizeable disadvantage to overcome. Paterson clearly saves all his misses up for the Cherry & Whites tho.

Given the Ospreys turned over Sarries 30-3 in the Anglo-Welsh semi I suspect the Exiles might be the only English reps in the semis. & If Cardiff win in Toulouse I fully expect the sun to be eclipsed with winged pigs.

Paterson's a fraud. Whenever it's a remotely hard kick for Scotland he gets Parks to have a go. I'd have a 100% record if i only kicked it from underneath the posts.

Bumpity bump.

Solid game, that Munster-Saracens scrap. Will calmly switch allegiances to cheer for Munster in the final.
How did it end up? I've been mainly watching Ireland/Notts, but have flicked over a couple of times. Was 15-13 to Munster when I last looked.

18-16 to Munster. Sarries spent three minutes trying to get into a drop goal position after getting about 35-40 metres out, then nearly broke through the line at the end, then gave up a penalty for holding onto the ball (understandable really :D )

Ball-tearer. I've no love for Sarries, but it would been nice to see big Dick Hill go out with a European final. I think that's it for the great man now; his knee's now so bad he hasn't played or trained since the quarter.
