im fine with NSW having their players back.. they shouldnt be penalised for having intl players

only 1 wicket at lunch.. tho RR is down
if we can just get a few quick ones the batting doesnt look that long.. Casson at 7 is good but still a bowler..

Vic well on top, pitch doesn't look too bad. Just some good bowling so far. A real test for bowlers lower order now. Need some big contributions from Lee and Casson.

Don't diss Siddle he's a gun.
Not dissin' his ability.

Chuffed to hear that he's just 23 - he's certainly a bright prospect.

First Saturday of cricket I've watched this year, and it's been absolutely deluxe.

Victoria have certainly pulled things back very well.

Geez, tense game so far. Haddin out last ball of the day is a huge wicket.

I was thinking NSW could defend 300 but I doubt they'll get there now. Vic will still be up against it against such a strong attack but geez, what an effort. So much for the much-vaunted NSW batting line-up. :D

Very glad Siddle dismissed Haddin in the last over before stumps. What an awesome start to his career, 35 wickets at 21 certainly one to watch for the future.

Vics now on top with NSW 8/266 and only tailenders left. Should be able to bowl them out for less than 300.

Yeah, from the Vics' standpoint, so long as they can establish a half decent platform for Hodge and Hussey, they would be backing themselves for a 1st innings lead in this tussle. Which, because of the prodigious turn that you can extract in the 2nd innings at the SCG, should be invaluable.

Haha, what? If anything people have said it looks weaker than the Vics. Bowling line-up more like.

Haddin unlucky with the last ball. Stayed low as.
It may be weaker than the Vic's but it's still a very strong line-up on paper. You have the most in-form batsman in the country (Kat), the new Test opener who has had a strong season for Australia (Jaques), the next Test captain (Clarke) and a bloke averaging 50+ for NSW this season and the next Test keeper (Haddin) in the top 7. 8/266 on a first day deck is below par for that line-up, even though Vic bowled well. The amount of runs is okay but they just lost too many wickets and I think they'll be disappointed.

SIDDLE is fkn gunnnnnn

typical stuff from the Vics bowling unit - hunting in packs.. clawing their way back and now ahead in this game you feel
needa get the next two wickets immediately coz we'll prolly be bowled out for around 200 odd too lol....
but gives us maximum chance getting em out cheaply..too early to call but this could be a close final...

Vics gain upperhand against Australia after day 1
