Rather than reply to all the stuff that's been posted, I'd merely like the Harby boosters why they support him so vehemently

Is it because of his unblemished record?

Cant be, he's got one of the worst disciplinary records in cricket history

Is it because he has no history of making racial slurs?

Cant be, he's done it before

Is it because he stuck to the same story from beginning to end?

Cant be, he changed it a few times (remember this classic - "I haven't done anything - we were just talking. It wasn't even sledging - it was just normal talk out on the cricket field. I was concentrating on my batting," )

Is it because he was such a credible witness?

Cant be, judge was hardly glowing in his praise

Or is it simply because of his nationality?
I support, in a limited way, Harbhajan in this set of events. Speaking entirely for myself, it is because he is being railroaded on a number of counts especially racial abuse, and far in excess of the instances of poor behavior that he has displayed in his career.

I also do not like the actions that Symonds and Hayden have engaged in, and if that disapproval (due to events that concern these three characters) comes across as supporting Harbhajan. (it shouldnt).

Between Symonds and Harbhajan, Harbhajan wins in my book, due to nationality mostly.

Beyond these set of incidents I have no particular sympathy for Harbhajan. And would rather support a Lee or Hussey before him. And would be generally happy to see off the behavior of (Harbhajan,Symonds,Hayden,Nel,Sreesanth, jelly bean thrower, Gibbs) from this game, and if it means having to see the backs of the whole lot of them (Indians included), so be it.

Sharad Pawar captured my point of view completely when he said something like:
We accept that Harbhajan is not a racist and will defend him. But there is no place
for "gaali galauch' either and we will speak to him on that matter.
('gaali galauch' = literally 'bad words, street dirt' I think)

can't we just gag this thread at this point? now that the tour is over, is there any point continuing the he said/they said stuff on here? it's very clear that neither side is going to convince the other...

Sums you up really - criticising people because they have a wife with cancer,
Haha, I am the last person to ever say anything against McGrath, but he was patently at fault in that conversation. He started it, he became personal, and then he got offended when Sarwan returned the favor. That exemplified everything wrong with whinging idiots on both sides.

In any case, this thread has become a genital wart on the face of CW. Closing pending some discussion with the mods.
