Well, you'd hope the chance of winning a final series would be enough to fire them up, tbh. I personally don't like the thought that it takes this stuff to get teams (and a good team, India, at that) going. They should be giving everything automatically, especially for important games like this.
I completely agree and I really doubt if this kind of stuff motivates players like Tendulkar.

I disagree about the cross bat shots. Gilly plays a lot of those shots and this time he mis-timed his shot. same is true for Ponting's dismissal. I thought early in the innings the ball wasn't coming onto bat really well and both Gilly and Ponting mis-read the speed of the ball and were a little too early in playing their shots.
Sure, but what I meant was that the shots they played weren't indicative of a team going into its shell because of the off-field stuff.

Unsure re. Brisbane attack - do they dump Hogg and run with Clark and Hopes, but leaving a very long tail, given the way th etop order is going, or will they retain status quo? As Clapo said, it's not really the bowlers who have been the problem this summer.
Based on Johnson's performance in Sydney, won't they just do a straight swap in Clark for Johnson and leave it at that?

Munaf is pedestrian these these days whereas Sreesanth usually saves his best for the Aussies. Sreesanth should play if Ishant can't make it.

Whatever it takes!!!

I would rather have Sree than Munaf, but we still don't know how fit Sree himself is.

And what a knock by Sachin!!!! It was just amazing how well he was able to control the whole innings..... The Bevans and Husseys would have been proud of how well he was able to control and pace the innings.. It combined moments of genius of the sort that only the real greats of the game can create along with amazing know-how of how to pace an ODI chase of the sort the great finishers of the game would be proud of...... Truly amazing!!! :)

I'll cry if the do, Johnson is a much better ODI bowler than Clark (as PEWS said)
I think he's generally better too, but I thought the Sydney surface would have suited Clark better for that game, given the success Bracken has had when he's taken the pace off there and rolled his fingers over the ball - thought Clark would have had an edge there.

What's the story with the weather in Bane de Bris? Has it been fine for a few days, and is it set fair for tomorrow?

Has been fine weather for the last 2-3 days, but there's an ODI there tomorrow, so it'll most likely rain...

It's not like he has a history of doing it, is it?

Look, I don't know whether he did on purpose or not; it's why bowlers are never called on them because intent is impossible to prove. I do think that it's naive in the extreme to think that no bowler has ever sent one down deliberately tho. Unless a bowler is attempting a complicated slower ball, I struggle to believe one of international class can really **** a delivery up so badly.
Is it possible to believe though that in pushing it to the limits to deliver at 150+ not much has to go wrong to mess things up? If he drags it down by an equal amount in the other direction nobody seems to complain.

Lee seems like a nice guy, but he has previous - and they always seem to come just as a pivotal moment in the game comes up.
I'd hate to think he's doing it on purpose, but I do enjoy my conspiracies.
A few people have said this. I remember it happening before, but I think there might be a little bit of a fairytale developing as far as 'pivotal moments in the game' being involved.

Nah, they're right. I mean look at his one to Trescothick. England were in the masterful position of 0/8. How ever would we have bought them down if we didn't beam them?

SOC, That's a pretty dire thing to say, Tresco suffers from a mental problem and tio give him credit he is trying to fight that problem, so we shouldn't make fun of a man's illness, that's pretty insensitive joke to crack.

Great, apologise to him for me.
