yeah, its a shame that he will only be at the ceremony the night before mania and not the event itself, any comeback from the Rock should be given a good pop imo, the guys great deadset, not a bad word to say about him to be honest. I would be very surprised if he doesnt have at least one or two more matches left in him, whether or not then will be any time soon is another matter, but the guy is just charisma personified, will watch tonight with Jonathan Ross this evening for the sole reason that he is one of the guests lol, IIRC he will be on soccer AM tomorrow as well.
Bugger, typical of me to be out of the country when those two momentous events happen. Definitely gonna be looking those up on YouTube as soon as I can. Fill me in on what he says, I'm assuming you'll be watching both?

The last time The Rock was on Jonathan Ross was amazing IIRC, but being on Soccer AM may possibly be the greatest thing ever.

I will certainly watch Jonathan Ross tonight, will watch soccer AM if the TV is free in the morning (or if i'm up in time) but more likely to look that one up on the internet. Should both be pretty good hopefully, Rocky is charisma personified lol, always good to listen to.

If you find either of them any time on a site other than YouTube or Dailymotion (both of those are banned on the computers here, argh) then let me know. Can't wait to see that, the other guests on Soccer AM include Danny Dyer and Evander Holyfield!

EDIT: Forgot to mention - random newsagent near me had the "Shawn Michaels: Heartbreak and Triumph" DVD on sale when I went in just now. Couldn't resist. Can't wait to watch it, even if the list of matches is mildly disappointing.

aw no they banned dailymotion? I thought that one was ok for you, goshdarn.

I have seen the HBK DVD in the local HMV a few times and was going to get it but just havent brought myself to do it yet, on another note you can get wrestlemania anthology 12-17 from amazon for about £40, seriously tempted by that.

Not bad. Wrestling DVDs are usually really expensive in the UK which is why I'm buying loads over here, they cost the equivalent of about £13 for a PPV or £22 for a 3-disc set, which is a good £5 less than I've seen them in HMV in Southampton.

Just watching last night's SmackDown! now, greatly amused by the fact that they got Vickie a bit of extra heel heat by having her say she loves Canada.

EDIT: Also good to note that Jamie Noble is now hugely over as a face. Great work to get that far over against Chuck Palumbo, the Man Of A Thousand Gimmicks.

haha didnt watch Smackdown this week, but please to hear about Noble...

Rock on Jonathan Ross was pretty good, as always he came over as a really nice guy, and talked a bit about his time in the WWE, took the piss out of the way Ross cant pronounce the letter R, "its waining etc...", good bit of TV, however, didnt see soccer AM so will have to try and find that on the internet at some point.

Apparently on Soccer AM they barely mentioned WWE. Looks like he's trying to make people forget he was ever a wrestler. Which will never, ever happen - I don't think he knows how good he was!

EDIT: Also in the news recently, WWE.com now has an "industry news" section on their website, on the frontpage. In a very brave move, you can now view the schedule of upcoming TNA, ROH and other events directly through WWE.com. They have also apparently used a quote from Kurt Angle in an article about Ric Flair (which I can't find), and described him as "TNA Champion Kurt Angle". I believe this is an effort by Steph to put a lid on the wrestling rumour sites that keep spreading storylines, and to make WWE.com the only place anyone ever goes for wrestling news - but actively acknowledging the competition like that is something WWE has never done before. If they're not careful they'll have another Monday Night War on their hands.

yeah, its a shame really, but as you say it will never be forgotten, and one day he will have another match, i'd put money on it.

Very interesting move by WWE to put all this stuff on their page, extremely risky if you ask me, in a lot of ways its a very good move....but if it backfires chances are it will really backfire in a bad way, fair play to them for giving it a go though, I kind of wonder if its a deliberate attempt to stick a finger in the face of Jeff Jarret though, it kind of strikes me as a "yeah we're so confident that we have the better product we dont mind your crappy wrestling being on our site" sort of thing, as as far as I could tell in the brief look I had at it there was no reference to UFC, who Vince apparently regards as a very serious rival....

on other news it sounds like Chris Jericho was very lukcy to avoid a serious injury at a house show the other night, apparently Mr Kennedy was positioned too far across the ring when Y2J went for the Lionsault, which ended up with Jericho landing on his head and needing major attention from the EMTs after the match, though it seems he is actually ok as he appeared and performed at another show the next night, good job too, could have been a nasty injury by the sounds of things.

Yeah, it struck me as just a finger to Double J to be honest. Could backfire big time, though.

Didn't hear about Jericho, that's not the first time Kennedy's been involved in an almost-very-dangerous botch, either. Or the second. He's gonna have to be careful he doesn't turn into Mark Henry or Batista and keep injuring either himself or anyone who ever gets in the ring with him. Good to hear Y2J's okay though.

Yes I thought the exact same thing, its a shame, as its taken a while for his confidence to be built up to the stage at which it is now, this will no doubt be a blow to him, but again as you say he's been involved in several high profile botches now, which have led to high profile performers ending up on the injured list. Needs to sort this out, no really excuse or reason for it either, he is a perfectly competent athletic guy, its not like he has excess weight or strength that he cannot control, maybe he has concentration issues or something....either way, lets hope theyre rectified soon.

Yeah, everything seems to keep getting in the way of Kennedy becoming the big star he's clearly capable of being. If it wasn't for injuries and other problems (basically his own idiocy in getting suspended) he would almost certainly have been WWE champ by now, or at least World Heavyweight champ - at the very least, he'd be riding the push of a lifetime as Vince's illegitimate son.

As it is, he's stuck in filler feuds, he's not going to win MITB, and he'll probably get stuck in a feud with Jeff over the briefcase for a few months while Cena and HHH feud over the main belt. Obviously Kennedy will lose this feud to Jeff, meaning he'll be right back where he started ages ago - the midcard. Send him back to SmackDown! IMO, he was better there when he knew it wasn't live.

Yeah poor Ken lol, hopefully he will get something meaningful and not a feud with jeff (thought no doubt that will have to be done by someone, Y2J perhaps?) Hopefully the winner of the MITB (whether its Jeff or not) will get a prolonged spot in the mainevent scene, as it needs freshening up, theres only so many combinations involving Cena, HHH, Orton, HBK, Edge, Batista or Taker we can get through without it becoming obvious whats going to happen. Shelton/either Hardy or Jericho should have been given a lot more serious mainevent exposure by this point in time imo.

Though on the Subject of Matt Hardy I think he is back this week on Smackdown, did a house show the other day apparently, genuine mark out, great guy/performer, looking forward to his run in with MVP.

VEEE ONEAAAAHHHH! :D

It'll be great to see Matt back, looking forward immensely to his inevitable victory over MVP at WM, not least because it'll be Matt's first meaningful singles title reign, but also because it'll surely mean MVP's ascension to main event status. Once 'Taker wins the title off Edge, MVP is the next logical feud for him. Got a feeling those two would work well together actually. MVP/Kane was a good feud.

I would think it's a shoo-in that Jeff will win MITB and be champ by the end of 2008 - be interesting to see who his first title feud is with. Jeff/Cena would probably be pretty good, especially seeing as they love face vs face feuds these days, and Jeff/Orton was decent. Jeff/Jericho is definitely one I want to see though, would rather that than Jeff/Kennedy following MITB. Although Jeff and Ken had some good matches late last year, Jericho could probably teach Jeff more to add to his rapidly growing in-ring repertoire.

Yeah would be very much interested in seeing MVP vs Taker, though for a while MVP would certainly job the title matches. His Feud with Kane was good, though I remember speaking to you before about the infamous inferno match....where surprisingly Kane (not wearing a full body suit) managed to set MVP (wearing full body clothing) on fire to win the match, who'da thunk it?

Haha yeah - check out this list of Fan Laws compiled by one of my favourite wrestling sites. On there there's a Law that states "In an Inferno match, the guy wearing the most clothing will always lose, no matter how over he is."

http://www.thewrestlingfan.com/fanlaws.html

Definitely worth a read, it's incredibly long but very amusing.

LOL some of those are great, i had to stop reading because they were going to make me laugh out loud. I'll go back and read the entire lot later, cheers rubble.

the one about "if your name contains the word "great" then it generally means you are a ****ty worker who killed someone onc ewith a botched powerbomb"

Haha yeah. Although that's factually incorrect, he actually killed the guy with a flapjack. More precisely two of them. The guy was being evaluated by his bosses at APW and was given a low mark for not taking bumps well, so he took one flapjack and got up and was told to continue, then the next one killed him. The guy's family sued APW for $1.3 million.

Spanish_Vicente
Yeah I read something about that a few months back, not surprising they sued tbh.

A lot of those laws were actually really good lol, funny and true for the most part, the "if you are on smackdown and have a problem with teddy long, you better be ready to wrestle the undertaker" one is so so true, but yet i've never realised it really beforehand, but pretty much every heel gets this at somepoint, complaining to teddy long, and then being put in a match with the undertaker.... In the last 2 years i can remember it happening to mark henry, helms, MVP, kennedy, edge, and i'm sure there are many more as well...
