Hayden calls Harbhajan an obnoxious weed

Never liked him at all myself, completely independent from the fact that I've never thought a hell of a lot of him as a batsman. Just comes across as unpleasant in so many ways on so many occasions.
I've always thought they weren't completely independent, no offence.

I know you (and quite a few others) have, and it's not really terribly surprising TBH.

Either way - you are wrong to think such a thing, though I'm moreoreless resigned to the fact that I'll never be able to change said view.

FWIW, I first started to think "jeeysh... Hayden's a pratt" in about 2002, and first decided I didn't think much of him as a batsman in 2000\01.

Did Hayden actually ask, jokingly or not, for Ishant to join him in a boxing ring?

If he did, I hope Hayden falls down a large set of stairs and lands on his face. ****ing idiot.

Someone should hit him over his balding head with one of his own frying pan, and any other cooking **** he owns.
Stab him with a Spork imo.

Yes he did. I really hate this ****ing boofhead. Seriously do these guys realise that they're in the real world now and that pub brawl mentality is no longer applicable just because someone pisses you off?

Hayden is the biggest **** in cricket by far.
I'm a very big Hayden fan, one of my favourite players in the Australian team, for cricketing reasons. Don't really get the hate, don't expect anyone to like him but it seems a bit over the top and disproportionate. That said, CA did the right thing by charging him, let's just hope they did it because it was the right thing to do and not because they were scared of what would happen if they didn't. Good post from Burgey as well earlier on.
How? He is not as bad as Harbhajan/Sreesanth/Symonds, but he is just so obnoxious.

Whatever it takes!!!
Because I agree with Hayden? I have not seen much from Harbhajan to consider otherwise. Hayden should have been more sensitive due to the media frenzy or the backlash of some, but his words are true. He [Harbhajan] is an obnoxious weed.
Symonds is a monkey... And that has nothing to do with how he looks, rather how he acts.

And so too with Hayden. These are as true as Bhajji being an obnoxious weed..

Can't understand how anyone could like Hayden as person. The guy is just a tool, nothing more, nothing less. Gun opening batsmen though.

Nope. If Harbhajan called Symonds a disagreeable, loudmouthed, uncultured twit, I would suggest that he wouldn't have been too far away from the mark. Racism is a whole other issue, though, as much as some may want to claim otherwise.

Frankly, this is yet another episode that demonstrates why I have completely lost interest in this series. The actual performances on the field are a distant second to the sniping and media power plays that are being conducted behind the scenes (by BOTH teams and their players), and the general level of douchebaggery surrounding this issue (again, by supporters of BOTH sides) on this forum is why I have pretty much lost interest in reading the threads here.

This is yet another example- my post was a throwaway line intended as a way of making light of the plainly ******** suggestion that there could be any sort of defamation action, and simply because I criticised a member of the Indian team (who IS an obnoxious knob, by the way- and the fact that there are others from both teams who are just as bad doesn't excuse that fact) you decided to whale in and justify what, if made, is undoubtedly a remark with racial connotations.

There isn't a player on either team that will emerge from this series with an enhanced public reputation, and very, very few that even have a chance of maintaining their public image to any but their diehard fans. Not for nothing, but the same rings true for posters on this forum, and this forum as a whole.
Funny thing about racism and racist comment..... Indian public have given hero's welcome to the likes of Lara and Richards and yet when one guy with those origins who plays for Australia and who does act like an ape gets called a "monkey", it is racism???

As I said, totally different to when Lehmann referred to the whole Lankan team as something extremely offensive AND racist.....

I agree it CAN be considered a racist comment and therefore should be banned, but to suggest and actually prove that it was intended to be racist would be a big big leap.

It's all just a little silly and too-emotional for me. Very trivial stuff. I hate this cricketer because he said this, I hate this cricketer because he celebrates in this way, meh get a grip.

All you knockers of the aussies must remember this.....

The Aussies are NUMBER 1 in ALL forms of the game played. and while trying to remain unbiased and objective I feel this whole bloody tour by India has been a farce with India NOT being competitive on the pitch and they have deliberately set out to knock "The Tall Poppy" syndrome out of the Aussies and it has not worked...The sooner they go home the better!!!!!!!!!!!

biased indian

Depends on the context and seriousness of it. Still yet to see a direct quote on that, or a proper transcript of the interview at all.

Hayden said he had repeatedly told Sharma to settle down and yesterday said he would like to meet the bowler in a boxing ring.

"He is just young. I have said to him many times, 'You are 19, take it easy'," Hayden said. "At the end of the day you are 19, why don't you just worry about your bowling for a while?"

Lolz @ not competitive. And good on the Indians for being willing to call the Aussie team out on their ****ish behaviour. About time someone did it.

And double lol @ it not working.

Yeah, agreed. I am sure the reactions would have been different if some Indian had called Symonds an obnoxious weed.
I'm sorry but I'm taking offense to that. In case you haven't noticed, THE MAJORITY of the Australian fans, myself included, have basically agreed that Hayden is a complete tosser because of what he said, I'm failing to see how that's disgraceful (as you and Sanz have said). SST & Swervy have been the only people to condone Haydens actions, that's 2 out of about 14/15, nothing close to a majority.

I'm also sure the reactions would hardly be different at all had an Indian player called Symonds an obnoxious weed, because in case you hadn't noticed, very few would disagree. That said, it wouldn't make it any more or less of an idiotic comment, than Hayden's was.

That's an opinion you're expressing there mate. Not a fact, seeing as though plenty who've played T20 would disagree with you there.

Well I'm a Hayden fan, not as a cricketer but as a media performer. I think he's a natural and think he should hit the circuit once he retires.
