International 12th Man
Pathan & Praveen double bowling change at the end of 11th over has resulted in
12-3-30-4 since then. 61/1 -> 91-5 with RR dropping from 5.5 to just less than 4.

Ouch! Ishant comes back, takes Dilshan LBW, SL now 93/6.

Dilshan has done well against India usually.

Not in Bellerive. It's like the 'Gabba, the cloud cover can fool you into thinking it's going to swing. The pitch and that the cloud cover is generally high in Tassie negates any movement. Should always bat first and SL are showing why.

Dont know which is more surreal: SL 93/7 or India having bowled 26 overs and all of them from seamers. No slow bowling yet.

Can you stop saying cheers please?

Its annoying, and at times like this, downright insulting. :)

In the prior two matches against SL, Indian bowlers had taken only 2 wickets and 3 wickets (there were 3 run outs in addition). Certainly guided the team selection today and it has paid off so well - Praveen Kumar certainly was the beneficiary of this and he is 8-2-20-3.

How do you explain Hilfenhaus getting so many wickets... Ian Chappell was mentioning about him getting 60 wickets and how there is always swing here only 10 minutes back.
Hilf bowled well last year. Really well. As did Colin Miller when he took 67 wickets in a season. This year he hasn't bowled very well and both he and Tassie have struggled. He's averaging about 50 with the ball and no 5-fers. No matter the conditions (within reason), good bowling takes wickets.

Yes there is swing most times of year but hardly outrageous. I guess you'd call it 'useful'? Bowlers who've done well at Bellerive historically have been your McGrath-type bowlers.

I can't help it if the SL batsmen didn't use perfect batting conditions. :D Some of the shots today...... from experienced players too. Jayasuriya's especially. Bit dirty if you were Jayawardene, though; absolutely spanked his cut shot and Sharma reeled it in somehow.

Holy crap. Get homw and Lanka are in some strife. Is it another tough deck or are India well on top?

Nah, the deck is a road. Solid Indian bowling coupled with some horrible shots. Sharma has bowled quite well, the new bloke bowled a heavy ball and got wickets as a result.

Time for me to use the ignore option for the first time in almost 4 years! Yikes!

Btw please dont tell me to "grow up". You dont know how old I am.

Cool. Just saw Ishu's wickets. That Perrera delivery was a peach.

8 down now. Another 4-fer for Sharma.

Yeah it's amazing to see a bloke improve right in front of your eyes so quickly. He came here as basically an in-swing bowler and will leave the country as one of the brightest (and quickest) fast bowling talents in the world.
